Takeover Rumours

Absolutely spot on. I don't think it's delusional or out of touch to say our fan-base is top-tier, especially given what we have put up with over the years.

If you are a Sunderland supporter then more often than not you live and breathe Sunderland, we don't really attract the casual crowd. In terms of "outsiders", Quinn talked about it getting "under your skin" and I was always cynical about what that really means......why us and not, Forest/Villa/Leeds/etc/etc?. I honestly think it's the people and how much WE care.

For example: I'm getting up at 6am to go to a bar with four Americans with no prior connection to the UK and the bloke who owns the place and started following us under Keane/Drumavilla (he's from Dublin). We are all getting up early to watch a league one game, against Accrington Stanley, in a bar that shows Portland Timbers, Ireland (football and Rugby), Red Sox and Sunderland pretty much exclusively.

As depressing as it is most of the time, we're part of something special.
It's gone 11am now. What was the score marra? Want to know if I should put us on my acca. ;)

More likely a Hyperloop pod
The way this thread is going.............I will be dissapointed each individual suppporter isnt issued with a New top secret Dell transporter wrist device that allows us to beam to the sol instantly ...nee need for monorail though!..We need some feet planting on the ground folks ..were a shit league one team with prospects thats all.........its going to take time to sort this shit out!but if this deal falls though its going to be a football sickner to end all football sickeners!

No need for that mate.
You’re a good poster just given duff information from someone you trusted.
Stick around and enjoy the future.

Aye and one that doesn't look to be anywhere nearer to the conclusion we were led to believe a while back....whats next after the staffing problems, monorail and now hotel?.....they seem to have forgot about the actual football club and started playing the Sunderland version of Monopoly ha!

Na, it's all good but I do think they'll have to pay well over the odds for the Hilton or at least just take a share.....whoever owns that wouldn't be very good at business to let that golden egg go for peanuts.

Depends where you're looking.

What if whoever owns the hotel now is thinking the same as the Dell boys?

Surely they aren't going to cash out on what could be a sound investment in the future if the Dell boys are looking to have more than just football at the stadium?

I really hope the hotel isn't a deal breaker....If I was the owner of it, I'd be holding on to it or wanting a hell of a lot more than I paid.
If they can't buy the Hilton, they might just build a new one. IIRC there were plans for a hotel nearer the river, opposite the SWC.
