To post in GOOD FAITH, information you trusted is quite acceptable in my opinion. To apologise, in the manner you have, is atonement in itself. To “fall on your sword” is quite Romanesque as a noble gesture but we aren’t Romans and you haven’t failed in battle, so remember this experience and the way that you feel is evident from your post, there is no need to sever your link with the SMB, just be more circumspect with regard to whom you trust and stay on board for the ride and KTF!
