Well, as you probably know, Americans don’t really care what’s going on with sports (or anything else) in the rest of the world...you do have kids who will play into older ages but it’s not the majority or the best athletes. We may even fluke a good team at a national level but I don’t think we will ‘Dominate’ anytime soon. When you get branded of “being a pussy” for playing a sport, kids
Yep, Americans on the whole are very insular ( you obviously are an exception), why take up international sports when you are guaranteed to be "World" champions in American football, baseball and basketball. Cuts out the middle man :D

I was standing next to Donald at Peterborough and that's not the word I'd have used tbh
Interesting - personally I think Ross has had his chance and the job is too big for him. Certainly the new owners will financially enable managerial changes and will make this job appeal to potential managers like Hughton.

Previous poster said his bro' in 'Merica said "Switch this shit off" when PL players were rolling around pretending to be injured. So maybe our overlords will instill a new-style, no-nonsense ethos requiring our players to be more like the rugby lads.... don't let them see you're hurt.... and the crowd at the SoL should chant "Pussy" or worse any time the opponents try this shithousery. I think we would be enthusiastic about that!
It might endear us to the Yanks and even spread through the game in general. Leading by example.

Realistically changing the manager is the only discernible change the new owners can make in the short term.

Otherwise the whole thing could fall flat this season.

Then what .... new manager next summer, buying new players, bringing in new coaches?

If so why not just get the process started while you can energise the support, the players and the entire club.

New owners would maybe seek to lure a manager that's fit for purpose from our current situation all the way up to the top half of the Premier League. Obvious A list candidates would be Chris Wilder, Eddie Howe and Sean Dyche. Clearly the project is going to be a very difficult/impossible sell at the moment though, money talks but even so. No doubt there are plenty of B and C list names that would at least make easy work of the first phase of getting us out of this god awful league. I'm assuming of course that whoever is advising the new owners about the football side of things has highlighted what a massive arse Ross has been making of the task.

We'd have to pay crazy money to tempt any of them to manage us and then they still may not take the risk as it's such a step down for them.
