In the early days he talked an excellent game. His vision for the club and how we should be doing things almost exactly aligned with my own. It was music to my ears.Big, solid, tin hat on here but Methven is better than Donald in terms of business, he's just an arrogant, pompous prick.
If i had to pick between the two of them i would rather have Methven working under a proper regime where he can't just do and say as he pleases, than Donald, who is literally clueless.
I dont want either like, but if that's the way it's going to be then so be it, anything is better than now.
I would very much question the judgement of anyone making 'front and centre' a man who was essentially forced out of the club for comments made about fans, and who is loathed by us,
Quite possibly in terms of a specific industry that he's operated in. I don't think it's possible to compare a car insurance business to a football club though.Unless he’s appointed Chairman
Does Donald not have a better business track record than Methven ?

Where has the idea that he's going to be front and centre come from?
I think it’s important to say that I don’t think any of us know the “role” he’ll play. He might be pretty insignificant, he might be more front and centre, we just don’t know yet. Let’s see.
Was just in response to this.
Methven also praised Parkinson for keeping Colchester up in the championship which should reflect his level of football knowledge and competence.Big, solid, tin hat on here but Methven is better than Donald in terms of business, he's just an arrogant, pompous prick.

Yes and Methven shouldn't be involved in making footballing decisions. One of the biggest downfalls of Donald and Methven is trying to do this alone without specialist people in specialist roles.Methven also praised Parkinson for keeping Colchester up in the championship which should reflect his level of football knowledge and competence.
To be fair, while I agree it would be ridiculous to bring Methven back in to that extent, I can't see it happening, and I think the poster was genuinely just saying he doesn't know, as opposed to making any suggestions.
What do we know about him?Yeah I agree, just saying... if someone did give Methven more say or a more prominent role, we'd know something was up.
And put it this way, from what we know of KLD, it'd be a bit out of character for him to do something so daft.
If we are getting a sporting director etc as suggesed he'll have very little input. I hope that's the case. As I've said I don't like him and don't think he has much to offer. I do think that as high as feelings are towards those 2 are right now, quite rightly, it'd soon change I'd we become successfulI think the suggestion is he wouldn't be in the background, he is going to have a prominent role. It's not really the best start for new owners when one of the main concerns is that the previous owners are still involved. It doesn't really suggest they understand the mood of the fanbase even if he thinks Methven can do a decent job.
I'd we're getting a sporting director to run things and a new manager and coaching set up too I can't see where he can have much influence. I'd prefer the lot of them gone but that can't always be the caseYeah I agree, just saying... if someone did give Methven more say or a more prominent role, we'd know something was up.

Mate, the fans did that. Just like we did the buying tickets for people who were down on their luck. The man is a complete fraud who did fuck all for Safc apart from slag off the customer base. Utterly useless and only where he is due to rampant cronyism. He’s got nothing to contribute to Safc.

From what I’ve gathered talking about him ( not just on here ) it would not be a good idea for him to come anywhere near the stadium or the town on a match day. He won’t be well received at the ground or round about.id rather stay as we are than have Methven involved around the club. If he stays down south and says nothing I am ok with that. If he’s up here slagging of safc fans. Showing a lack of respect for the region and its people calling fans parasites Etc no thanks. He’s not welcome at all. I don’t want him back here he just doesn’t get it.
You see I really disagree with that. We ALWAYS get good crowds on Boxing Day - particularly when the atmosphere around the club is good (which it was at the time). At best he added his voice to something that was going to happen anyway. Maybe he added a little to it but the simple truth is that we would have probably broken the record without any involvement from him.It was his voice and efforts that got all the bodies through the door on Boxing day, as said tho a lot of his actions and noises made that were questionable and wrong to make him become a hate figure
Being given employment by our current government is not indicative of competence.This...as much he a self entitled elitist, as much as hes let his mouth go demeaning northerners...he has a 6% share ina club that could earn him millions, he is the ultimate PR Guru...the Government enlist his services so hes pretty good at his day job.....look at the bigger picture promoting his 6% interest with billionaire backing
That 46000 was fan driven. I will not give the utter kernt any credit whatsoever for that.Obviously the talkins and podcasts were his downfall but his promoting of the club only got it more noticed, he constantly banged the drum to get fans in through the door, pretty sure if it wasnt for his push of tickets getting sold we wouldnt have had 46,000 on boxing day....He done a lot wrong but he did do a lot of good
