They cant do anything to stop the board of sunderland making decisions but they have a charge on the SOL and AOL, the money is loaned to Madrox and the only thing that Madrox owns is Sunderland which own their own ground and academy hence they can say something about selling the club

Gives then no real control at all.

The money is owed by Madrox, they simply pay it back as part of the sale.

I don't understand those who think the Premier League and performance on the pitch is all that matters. It's the same as those who would be thrilled with Red Bull Sunderland being in the Premier League.

My club is a part of my identity. Its my family, my childhood, my community and Charlie Methven took a piss all over it. I'd rather take the long road back and see Methven never return than be in the Premier League in 2 years with Methven in the thick of it.
 
At the end of the day it was Methven and Donald that brought Sartori to the table. If Sartori and KLD succeed then CM/SD will still have laid some kind of groundwork in getting them on board.

I’m not saying I particularly like Methven and he certainly he needs to learn some PR lessons of his own. I’m not going into this new era full of spite though, if him and SD end getting filthy rich off the back of us then we’ll be having some very happy days ahead.

Its not the same as Red bull taking over ffs.
Christ the bloke has only spouted a load of drivel. If we can get this fella in with a good plan and money to back it up then Methven hanging around in the background is a small price to pay.

It’s certainly not an overreaction. I have felt this way about Methven for the majority of his involvement. Ok so nothing has been done as yet but the thought of him being involved is sickening. It’s my view on that particular scenario. I’d be amazed if any of our supporters felt differently but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I rather him not involved at all and sell his stake.

This...as much he a self entitled elitist, as much as hes let his mouth go demeaning northerners...he has a 6% share ina club that could earn him millions, he is the ultimate PR Guru...the Government enlist his services so hes pretty good at his day job.....look at the bigger picture promoting his 6% interest with billionaire backing

We’re not talking about him hanging round in the background though. The suggestion is that he is taking a prominent role. The idea of him spouting off about our football club and ‘what good looks like’ when he’s a proven failure and total gobshite is something that’ll be hard for people to live with. That’s before we deal with the fact that significant involvement from a dunce like methven is likely to keep us in league one for a fair while.

It's not the same as Red Bull, you're right - that is the extreme. That doesn't make me happy with the situation and I will not trust the new ownership unless they do a hell of lot to earn it. You can think differently if you want, that's your prerogative, but don't tell me that I won't give a fuck, because I do and plenty of others will too.

This government in particular enlisting his services is more to do with the school he went to and who he knows, rather than his actual PR skills.

I think the suggestion is he wouldn't be in the background, he is going to have a prominent role. It's not really the best start for new owners when one of the main concerns is that the previous owners are still involved. It doesn't really suggest they understand the mood of the fanbase even if he thinks Methven can do a decent job.
