Last week it was the chancers would not be involved at all in any way regards running of the club, this seems to have drifted to... Methven having a role, and Donald having some say even if small going forward.

F ing hell hope not.

it's all too sketchy for me, we need to wait and see there is no point in thinking anything until a deal is done...i have my doubts there is any deal but lets see

Donald will have very, very little say on anything moving forward. A "silent shareholder" was how he was described in an email by one of the others involved. Methven however...

If he keeps his mouth shut and stops slagging then fans off, I don’t have a massive problem with him having the sort of role he had at Spurs (?).

I don’t think he has the brains to keep his gob shut. Perhaps he will be quiet for a few months but at some point, because he is what good looks like in his mind, he will want to share thoughts.

If either of them are involved in any capacity other than silent shareholders with absolutely no influence in the club whatsoever I wil be gutted. We will never move on from this as long as those two are involved. And if Methven ever has the ear of Dreyfus then the lad has failed before he’s started as his judgement is severely flawed. If the state of our club now doesn’t indicate to him the lack of ability and the small time attitude that prevails here, then nothing else will, and I’d also say all the money spent on his education has been wasted.

I assume he got the free 20% on the basis that he would eventually broker a deal for the chubby little loser on the grounds that his local in Monaco is rammed with billionaires. Much as Stew and Charlie are mates from Oxford days, Stew must realise that Charlie is too transparently needy to deal with very wealthy people who will all have a healthy skepticism about skint poshboys with their hands out

He might only have paid £1 to Donald for his shares in Madrox, but he put £3m into Madrox which went to Short, which was his 20% of the price of the shares. He's since put about £2.5m into Sunderland. Hardly free.

People are seeing in the structure what they want to see. The odd assumption they make is that Donald actually wants to be involved in running the club. Personally, I don't think he wants anything more to do with that side of things; he simply wants a stake so he can squeeze a bit more cash at the end of the day. CM might want to be involved, but whether or not that happens is not within his control. If Dreyfus wants to ignore him, there's nothing he can do about it.

fair enough : not free but attractively priced ! Getting him involved will have been Donald's best move if this deal does come to fruition

just got to hope Dreyfus realises this quickly.
Although, if money is wisely invested and we start climbing the leagues again, I’m sure we won’t be as fussed about Methven’s involvement or Donald’s profit...
Hopefully anyone new coming in will tell him to wind his neck in.
🤞🏼

For months it’s been the case as SD and CM won’t give their shares up. they’ll have a say no doubt but they’re minority shareholders so any major issues they can be outvoted

He’s unlikely to be a final decision maker in anything of any importance though. There’s a massive difference between being an insurance entrepreneur’s sidekick/confidente and working for a billionaire owner who’s been brought up around one of the biggest companies in the World.
How do you know it is? If he has him involve it suggests he wants him there and values his input.
