None of the strikers have proved they can score goals in the last couple of seasons.

That's a valid point, however:

1. I think a different manager may have the nous to recognize this fact and try to get goals from elsewhere in the team rather than hoping Wyke learns to play football. Without him on the field we would have room to try something different like Gooch/Maguire up front with Embleton, O'Nien, Dan Neil, etc given a chance to take up the supporting roles.

2. Grigg has proven himself more than capable at other clubs playing differently to how we do. We might want to try and play to his strengths at some point.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting we pin our hopes on him. However, in a team where he's getting numerous chances in a game rather than one or two I think there is a chance he knocks a couple in and starts heading in the right direction.

That’s a good shout. High quality U23s is the quick way around the salary cap. There are other immediate things they can do as well.

1. Quality U23s as you say.
2. Pay up the contracts of Grigg, O’Brien, Graham, Dobson, McGlouchlin.
3. Appoint a market leading data analytics firm to identify recruitment.
4. Pay up PP contract and replace.
5. Appoint high quality football/business people to senior positions throughout the club.

Budget's no bloody good if there's no space in the squad and, even if we do manage offload someone, the replacement will have to paid around £2k/week.
