He should have followed his heart mate. He’d have been better for it. A massive job, on his jack jones at that stage of his career, with those two morons. Makes you wonder what kind of promises they made him but broke.

I spoke to him at Coventry away a couple of seasons back lovely bloke , said how much he appreciated the support from the fans.
I do think it was time for him to go because it just wasn't working, had I known what the alternative was mind I think I may have preferred to keep him.
Hes young for a manager and may improve where as Parkinson is as good as he's going to get.

I actually agree with this. He talked a good game and like all jocks like the sound of their own voices.
And i also agree with the no takeover bit. Have already mentioned about 6 weeks ago i spoke with someone who would be directly involved with a takeover, and when i asked about the takeover, he looked at us as if to say "what f@@kin takeover".

Methven was the one who really pushed for him to become manager after going up to Scotland to interview him. And he was cheaper than some of the others in the frame, specifically Wilder.

Then Methven was the alleged main protagonist in getting rid of him, and you can see in the clips of CM in the play off final v Charlton on STID2 that he’d clearly grown irritated with him.
@rubberface has suggested of late that Ross and Methven had more than a verbal argument at one stage.

Methven bigged him up in his programme notes and media outings but the minute things went wrong never defended him.

Brian Clough once said that football club owners who appoint managers and then sack them should perhaps think about sacking themselves as that manager was their choice based on their supposed expertise in the selection process!

Given the rumours that have circulated like this, and the rumours about Methven and SD falling out and not speaking.
I've a feeling that once they've gone there'll be an awful lot of stuff coming out about what happened the behind the scenes that'll make everyone question just about everything that went on.

The thing is he bottled it after the first few months, switching from his supposedly preferred 'high tempo pressing game' to a slow, defensive game plan set up to 'not lose'.

As much as he needs to take responsibility for that, our recruitment that first Xmas transfer window was absolutely abysmal.
No attempt made to rectify the glaring deficiencies in the first team, and Will Grigg being a textbook example of all that can go wrong with a "chairman's signing".
That's on SD and CM.
