I get what you’re saying totally but arguably our best hope of keeping them would be under new ownership, under a more forward thinking manager and with some positive action to reshape the squad and rebalance the wage structure. Under the current shite they’d probably say no. Frustrating that it’s taken so long to happen but unfortunately we have two greedy kernts hanging on for their profit.
 
By the time the legals finish and the bill comes in poor Kyril and his ma will be shopping in pundland when they come ower.

Dunno who will be paying Donalds. Well I do , the yanks loan probably :-)

Of course we can offer a new contract. Although, granted, the cap makes it difficult.

But the point is that if there genuinely was a takeover happening they'd have started this process, surely? We're now in the territory of them being offered deals by other clubs. Hume and Willis will have interest in the championship.

I fear the reality is donald knows he can't afford to keep them on so will quite happily let them go to be replaced by inferior alternatives. Yet again. We can't continue to let assets go for nothing.

At the moment we probably can’t afford to keep them. That’s why we need the change in strategy. The delay won’t have helped us keeping people but I’m equally keen to see what our new direction is. I’d imagine they want to make some room but I’d rather it was from Grigg , Graham and co obviously. It’s not all legal yet. I’d imagine we hear more closer to the window.

Yes they absolutely can afford players for free on modest wages who could command a half decent transfer fee.
