Takeover News/Rumours - Part 42

According to my ITK sources; It was the charity boxing match that was going to be announced at 11 and not the takeover. Got delayed for paperwork and #Cans of Rich couldn’t be purchased in time for the press release.

You know what absolutely baffles me? When our fans say that he should be given a chance because he talks a good game. Have some people learned absolutely nothing from 'The piss taking party stops now'? and the bullshit we were fed when Donald and Methven waltzed in 2.5 years ago?

It is so easy to turn up and tell the fans of any club that their current team isn't good enough, that they deserve more, and that you have an unproven amount of money that could make everything much better. Anyone can do that with minimal research of any football club.

What we have learned from this sorry saga of the last 5-6 years, imo, is that good intentions and telling fans what they want to hear are no match for a stable owner who has a strong plan to progress the club, and who have the resources/desire to back up that plan. Almost none of the football club owners in England are fans, or had any real affinity with their club when they made the purchase. A good owner is a good administrator, not a good talker.

Storey is only barely the latter.
 
Storey is the flamboyant front man who is entertaining and controversial. If (and it’s a massive if) he is actually backed by four talented musicians then you get a great product.

In a business sense those backers would be shrewd, connected and supremely intelligent....and if that’s the case why the fuck would they align themselves with Wild Bill the Walter Mitty of beard oil, snake oil and bullshit?

They wouldn’t. They haven’t.

If anyone thinks he talks a good game they only need to read the third part of that interview the other day and run a mile.
 
I'll fight him like, am 5ft6 and weight about as much as a wet paper bag like but it'll be a right laugh. I'll get in his head by wearing a face mask and I'll have them lads from that cycling company he ripped off in me corner. Winner gets to own Sunderland.
