Takeover News/Rumours - Part 42

There’s every possibility that the dawn of this new era is entirely a money saving scheme to reduce costs and convince supporters that positive change is coming.

Hill, Coton and Reid have all left their jobs. Speakman’s remit appears to cover all three of those jobs at present. That’s one wage instead of three. Johnson has replaced Parkinson like for like. Both Johnson and Speakman (considering what has just happened with Brum) were readily available. I think Poyet was spoken to, has had a look at all of this and not fancied a bit of it.

It’s all just very 2019 with FPP, the collapse, and then the appointment of Parkinson.

Isn’t it only the optional supplementary elements of the bail out funding that would lead to the transfer embargo.

The bulk of the amount receivable carries no restrictions does it?

If what Armstrong says is accurate then we’ll know one way or the other fairly soon what the resolution is and they couldn’t be more diametrically opposed!
Yes that’s right and Donald taking the restrictive element makes no sense at all.

If he is losing 1 mill per month he needs to sell and the longer it takes the less profit he makes. If he takes the restrictive element which likely amounts to a couple of hundred grand, prospective buyers will either pull out or drop their offer by millions to take into account a number of transfer window embargo’s and the reduction in the probability of promotion.

I just can’t see any reason he would take that bail out (unless no one is currently interested in the club - and I don’t believe that)

He’s basically saying it’s off there then.
Wouldnt say its off but they look miles apart. SD has ruined the club and wants a fortune to let it go. No other business would be worth money if managed the way he has.
This fuckin thread man. Apparently dreyfus wants more of the club... how can anyone view that as a bad thing given the last few years of stewy donald.

If anyone finds fault with a billionaire wanting more or maybe all of the club then they need to just fuck off. Theres literally no down side
Cant see anybody finding fault with him wanting more unless I've missed something

the bad thing hes trying to deal with the bell end that is donald

Remember when Donald said if he wasn’t wanted here, he’d go ?
Him and Methven need to accept they will never be accepted by many fans and need to go.
I’ve said elsewhere as long as they are involved in the club absolutely anything could happen. I can see this “ takeover” going belly up.

Time to post the official club statement released by the club board in January again.

"Given these circumstances, and Stewart Donald’s sincere commitment on his arrival at Sunderland AFC that “I won’t outstay my welcome”, the Board feels that it has no option but to sell the club. That process has now commenced. Owing to confidentiality agreements, there will be no further updates until a preferred bidder is identified."

Rodwell says those decisions were made and implemented solely by the current board, but admits he would be 'astonished' if an incoming regime tore up that plan.

He said: "The reality is that the decision to remove Phil [Parkinson] was made by the board of Sunderland.

"The appointment of Lee [Johnson] was made by the board of Sunderland, and the decision to bring in Kristjaan [Speakman] was made by the board of Sunderland.

"Those are the facts.

"We've tried to keep spinning plates but sooner or later you have to make some big decisions

"I think the calibre of people we have brought in in Lee and Kristjaan speak for themselves, and I would be astonished if any new ownership group came in and decided that they could get better or that they weren't for them, I would be amazed.

"But this is football, and bonkers things happen all the time."

As long as the intent is there from dreyfus then he will end up getting exsctly what he wants. No fucker else wants us and stewy donald cant afford it. Inevitable he'll end up owning full club soon enough imo.

After all said and done donald cant hold people to ransom due to his financial position. For all we know dreyfus could be the one making life difficult to get more for his dosh.

Confirms that the removal of Parkinson and appointment of Johnson and others were decisions taken by Donald, not Dreyfus. Going as far as to say he'd be surprised if they got rid of them should the takeover happen.
Do you think Donald orchestrated the changes at the club, including adding a sporting director, as a way to try and prove his value in staying on to dreyfus?

I've consistantly said this but apparently when I queried this it was "ODD" timing. Not looking odd now with another takeover looking dicey at best; If supporter groups stand by and do nothing we may not have a club to support. It really is that serious imo.

There is always things going on behind the scenes with RAWA also, mate.
The lads are constantly finding things out, speaking to people, and most importantly, acting on behalf of the fans.

How’s it a good thing if Donald won’t give it to him? Would that not be a downside.

It’s literally what happened with FPP.
