We don't know where the new structure has come from, that's kind of the point. We have no clue who is making any of the decisions at the moment, you are suggesting it's the prospective new owners which could be right, just not sure there is a lot of evidence to support it especially if Speakman is saying he hasnt spoken to them.
What we do know is the new head coach has only spoken to SD none of the other/new owners.

So they will need to make strategic decisions, but there is probably a fair bit of alignment on a lot of those type of things anyway. It might now be a couple of things go against Donald that wouldn't have before.

I'd like to think non of them will be involved. They provide the budget and keep their nose well out.

Appoint a person specialised in a club transformation and another for finances and let them do everything. I don't see anything that any of the owners, including the new chap if he comes on board being able to offer other than the remit to transform the club and any extra money available.

You can only sell of there is a credible buyer. It's not the best time to flog a football club with a poor squad, massive overheads and little chance of getting a return on investment in the short term..

That's as may be but as reluctant as I am to say it I think that a lot of people who have the means to buy the Club probably wouldn't find Sunderland attractive enough to want to spend a lot of time in the City. Short didn't and I don't think that any of the DELL boys would have done. Does Mike Ashley spend a lot of time up in Newcastle running the club?

The days of a hands on local business man having the means to own a Club the size of SAFC is long gone. The last at SAFC who was able to do so was Bob Murray and even he recognised that given the money that it required it had become almost an impossibility. We have also been reminded of that by the buffoons who are currently in charge of the Club that its ownership is well out of the league of those with just a couple of million to spend.

In some ways we are probably better off now that the technology is here as it does enable people with big money to be involved in the running and ownership of the Club. I think that the huge and highly expensive boardroom table that Bob Murray proudly fitted in the SOL 20 years ago might just be a bit obsolete these days.

I said this bloody ages ago, he will not sell till he gets his money back and the sell value goes up. Why should he? They said at the start they needed investment and they have going found investors. They wanted a Dortmund model of good academy creating assets to sell. Looks like they have done that. They have been shite on the football side like. I'm not pro Donald just thought I'd lay down some facts that is evidenced on STID

I think that's what most of the successful owners do.

Agree with most of that apart from the academy, they have done the opposite of Dortmund model there.

good points but in that case lets get some people we can trust to look after OUR club, seems to me the buffons you mention will still be hands on god forbid

Of course he will...but it will be on his terms won't it. There seems to be a school of thought on here that people just walk away from business because the fan base want them to...that's not how the world works.

You said people didn't have a problem with Sartori nearly three years ago to suggest everyone should be happy with it now.

It's almost as if things happen, and information comes out during that time period that changes people's minds.

And it was SD who said he would sell up when he wasn't wanted.
