That's totally different to what the owners are saying, mind. Best finances in the football league was one term (or words to that effect) Donald has said multiple times over the season he's had people wanting the buy the club, including just days after he bought it.

More disappointing than embarrassing for me. We didn't deserve to go up even though we were unlucky.

Can’t be arsed to go over the same arguments again and again like, people know my views

Last year was a massive failure for me. Peoples ambition has been stifled so much that it’s not seen that way by many

Think the whole attitude towards last season was wrong from the top personally

Never felt they were desperate as they should have been to get out of the league

Of course it was a failure.

Not sure what more they could have done from the top- they were busy sorting the whole club out from top to bottom. Hopefully everything is a lot more settled this season and it will reflect on the pitch.

There’s loads more they could have done

They lack ambition in my opinion, I don’t think they grasp how bad it is for Sunderland to be in league one as it’s all they’ve ever known

I don’t think a lot of it’s intentional or like trying to pull the wool, I just not sure they’re grasping the situation personally

Too much patting themselves on the back for cutting costs, well done that’s your job lads.

Donald has said many times how much he absolutely hates being the chairman to have led the club to their worst finish ever. Determined to put it right etc...

And the mentioning of the financial stuff is usually in response to the same old questions from people.
