I've been cooking for 4 for 16 years and I'm yet to master pasta quantity. Just chuck the whole bag in now, the boy normally deals with any excess
I've never got it right

Fancy asking yer mate how long use by dates generally are mate?Only really bother with a particular indian round our way as it is good quality but now costs about £75 for 4 of us which is ridiculous. Probably have 4 or 5 a year.
Mate of mine who used to use the same takeaway now orders this:

I’ve just had 2 courses in the cook à nd barker in Northumberland ( lamb as main-crab bisque to start -that’s soup to me ) and was incredible for 25 squidAbsolutely shite aren’t they when you really think about it when you take into consideration the quality of the food and prices , I think it’s mainly down to laziness as to why people get them , i am one of them .
Just spent £25 (including delivery fee)on a Naan bab there and it was absolutely bang average, as most are tbh.
Waste of money , could have got and made a lot of decent food for that if I’d went shopping instead . I think I’m going on a takeaway ban , that was my first one in 2 weeks tonight believe it or not.

Fakeaway’s are the answer. Can pretty much knock up anything I’d order from a takeaway as good as or even better for a fraction of the cost. Only downside is the time and mess it creates
If he only gets two meals out of a delivery box he's got a large family or a big kite. The smoked leg of lamb box is superb.Only really bother with a particular indian round our way as it is good quality but now costs about £75 for 4 of us which is ridiculous. Probably have 4 or 5 a year.

We get one most Fridays cos the kids are usually at footy or swimming so order on the way home, the 2 we use usually have offers on through the apps - 3 curries, 2 rice, 2 naan costs about 20quid usuallyWe only get an occasional Indian takeaway or Fish & Chips. Never have Chinese, pizza, kebabs etc. We probably average one takeaway per month over a year.
local kebab shop wanting £15 for tikka and kofta wrap, had salt and pepper chicken with rice and chips and curry sauce at my local Pub for £14Agree with the cost, these days it's easily a tenner a head.
Sometimes the kids are round with partners and the missus start going on about a takeaway.
I'm sitting there looking at 8 adults knowing it's going to cost about £90.
I'm sitting there looking at a bang average Chinese, knowing it's cost me nearly £100.
Even the old staple of a 5 course Indian has gone up from £6.99 to about £18, it's just not worth it.
To be fair to the takeaways they have to make money, I've ordered stuff before and thought what was the point in them cooking and delivering all that for the sake of £15, can't have been making much. Everything has gone up its ridiculous but that's for another threadSince COVID the prices have become a joke.
Pardon the pun but it will bite them in the arse , loads of people I know do t order them anymore, as an example a Chinese I orders from for years, pre COVID was around £28 .
EXACT SAME ORDER NOW £47.
