Morgan's approach to the game was heavily influenced by McCullum who is a big advocate of 'no dickheads'/'fit in or f off' approach. Now that McCullum is involved in the structure - and I know he's not in ODIs but his good mate is - I can't see the stance on Hales changing. They must really hate Hales, he’s one of the best in the world in this format
Think this would signal the end to any hope he had of a recall nowThey must really hate Hales, he’s one of the best in the world in this format
You watch it be Hales now, after my last postThat will open the door for someone now Bairstow is out
Yeah I read the same article, he wasn't betting on an opener dropping out that's for sureThink this would signal the end to any hope he had of a recall now

Jos Buttler (Lancashire) Captain
Stokes
Malan
Salt
Brook
Livingstone
Ali
Willey
Wood
Rashid
Topley
That would be my by team from the squad picked, if Stokes is fit to bowl 2 overs a game/combine that with Livingstone, then could see a specialist bat (depending who replaces Bairstow) coming in for Ali or Rashid, as dont think 8 overs of spin will be needed on these pitches.
Stokes has to open for me, still dont really think he should be in the team but he can win matches from opening
Just reading the cricinfo article regarding the squad, seems Hales was the 2nd choice to open behind Bairstow, he also rang Key himself to argue why he should be going after being left out.
puts Key in a tough spot now if he fails to pick Hales as Bairstows replacement.
Stokes will probably be knackered after the test this week and withdrawn so they can get him back fit and firing for the Tests in Pakistan .Think this would signal the end to any hope he had of a recall now

Are there no English coaches in the game up to the task?Michael Hussey and David Saker join coaching team

Correct, but of course you knew what I meant, however I’ll take your put down in the spirit it was intended. There are already English coaches in the setup![]()

Interesting, when someone said people weren't suggesting names for Durham's head coach my thoughts did wander to "I wonder what Mike Hussey is doing these days"Michael Hussey and David Saker join coaching team
David Hussey was the one mentioned at the weekend in the Telegraph so some paper has got it wrong.Michael Hussey and David Saker join coaching team
MichaelI think you'll find it's David Hussey
Batting coach for Chenai Superkinngs in IPL. That'll pay more than Durham could afford for a whole season, I'd imagine.Interesting, when someone said people weren't suggesting names for Durham's head coach my thoughts did wander to "I wonder what Mike Hussey is doing these days"
