T20 - Durham v Yorkshire

Really? Who’s playing, did they advertise over the last few games 😂 sometimes forget it’s cricket like at the start of the match. That’s something else they need to change on the T20. No music at the end of overs and better commentary.

Be thankful we no longer have cheerleaders and those flamethrower things (mostly). And playing in those traditional Durham colours, all black or all red 😁

I'd imagine the club asked for the 4 in 8 days as they have the concerts on soon which I believe are struggling with sales.

Struggling is an understatement. Rod Stewart sales are that bad it’s now 2 for 1. Think there was less than 1000 sold before the offer.

They need to do more like Chester Le Eats. Get the pub open more and have a proper outside seating and dining area. Get people calling in from the park and the river walks. Make it a bit of a destination in CLS.

Also think the hotel will make a big difference once it’s built. Plenty of local businesses will recommend the hotel if it’s decent as there’s nothing nearby that’s good anymore (Holiday Inn is minging these days).

Also need to sort out some of their existing commercial offers. For example Xmas party offer for this Xmas has only just gone out. We booked ours in Jan this year. Not many big organisations leave it until June / July time to book an Xmas party.

I was fatigued with t20 about 2 weeks ago be it Durham or even other counties on the TV.
I think it would be better if they went back to the 3 groups of six but the counties won't want less t20.
Went to the first two hime games at the Riverside and to be honest its to short and its a pain to get out if the carpark.
