T20 Blast 2026

Our women are showing the men up here.....they are playing controlled cricket while the men seem to have no clue in terms of game management .
It's a batting lineup that lacks power to find the boundary on a regular basis but also struggle to work the field to pick up the 2s and 3s. Our tactics are stuck in the past hoping that we can restrict sides to under 150 whilst everyone else is aiming for 200+ and filling their 11 with players capable of hitting 6s.

I am not sure about that....my view is that we are not bothering to try and build a platform early on in the innings. It seems as though the likes of Clark and Lees just want to hit it out of the park from ball one. Its either we obliterate the opposition or bust.....

Simple fact is other than Bedders would any of batsman get in a good T20 side.

We look so weak in batting we have hardly ever had any power and you need it now more than ever.
We didn't even need power tonight. Nor did we against Yorkshire.

Another low scorer that just needed someone to bat the innings.

Both McKinney and Ackermann saw it well enough to bat ahead of the rate. Both chased it after hitting a few.

This format is just as much about quick thinking as power. Zero brain power cost us tonight.

Agree. There was no need to take such risks. They just needed to keep the scoreboard ticking and punish any bad balls (not that there were many). More intelligent playing could have won the game.

It is important to note that Northants are a very decent side. Played very tight and tidy when fielding and bowling and made it hard for Durham. That's where the intelligence was needed! Northants had it and Durham didnt in the end.

While there's always the chance Bedders will get a big score sadly they are few and very far between in this format from him.

Out for a duck on the first ball says it all
Clark had that one decent T20 score against Leics (when let's face it he should have been comfortably caught on the boundary when he'd made 4 )but other than that his batting has been horrific and that includes his two innings against Lancs 2nds at the Riverside when he looked completely out of touch as well.

Somehow were still third in the group

The North group even without Warks, Worcs and Northants is still shite.

Lancs will be getting Buttler and Salt back just in time for us to improve their last place standing :(

It's fair to say that the two best third-placed sides that qualify to the quarters will be from the South and Midlands group!
