Swindon Town 25/26 thread

I don’t think you would find one Swindon fan that would think we are going up.
Honestly we look awful.
Looking & playing "awful" is not the defining point for a team to go up through play-offs. Just getting on the pitch & competing often produces the goods if/when the chips are down. As I've posted; if a team can manage a goal they're in every game. STFC are not out of it by any means because you can.

That horrid thing "hope" is a large reason why people attend (and play) the game.

Cambridge winning to keep our play off hope alive.
Past caring. Going up would be a disaster anyway. 😢

Just want the bastard owner out of the club. Holding us back.
Not a great result tonight for STFC, especially looking at your last two fixtures. What I thought a few months back was totally within control could now feasibly finish horrendously. From your perspective staying in L2 could make your club easier to sell but as you know a lot depends on what happens in the background with producing a promotion challenging team & avoiding that scenario where you end up at the bottom end next season where Morfuni's involvement (or lack of) may not beneficial.

Hopefully time is coming for a change.

He is blown it.
Lost the plot. Last night evidently offering people outside if they have a problem with him.
No wonder the plays look lost. Hope he fooks off with the owner if I am honest.

Morfuni has put his Son on the Board. The only way this bastard is going will be through the Courts. As said don’t care anymore.
Going to Grimsby with no enthusiasm and with the mates. They are as sick of it as I am. Car journey will be fun 🤣

10 of us last game Corporate, wasn’t going as don’t want to give a penny to the club.
At least we can all agree on how shit the club is.

Can’t wait for it to finish and don’t want promotion.
How bad is that from a Supporter.

I totally understand your points but the main enjoyment is surely having a day with mates over a beer or two where you can discuss on & off pitch events. I also agree with your final para, it isn't bad because fans usually have the Club at heart. Going with mates also gives the opportunity to discuss what IH will do (or say) next which is entertainment in itself .

But how far would you be happy for the Club to go down the pyramid to get rid of what now looks like a family of leeches controlling events? Would a year at NL level benefit as it has at other clubs [eg look at York, Rochdale & to a certain extent Carlisle].

Keep your head pointing in the right direction, in fotball there's usually light at the end of a darkened tunnel.

Trouble is we have had 10 years of this shit.
Most get over it in a few.

Should have taken him up on the offer. Or was the line too long?

10 years isn't really so bad when you consider what's happened to other clubs, one example today is Leicester who won the Prem 10yrs ago but today they're beginning prep for L1, then you look at others that went into the Conference/NL & NPL had various changes of ownership but came back & Bury...I won't mention The Heed or Workington.

Football moves in cycles but do you really want to go out of the League to get rid of Morfuni because that might be what it would take?
Just seen the 2 remaining fixtures  Massive!
They're absolutely horrendous, what I'd considered were very winnable games now seem the opposite.

We will get beat Saturday.
Likely bottle it last game. In fairness we have been miles off it for months.

Sure but we are Swindon and I don’t mean that in a daft way.
The potential has always been there. Just always fooked over by the owners we attract.

Hopefully he can be escorted to the old people’s home after the last home game.
He can then argue with his shadow in the window.

Many Clubs have been badly shafted (i.e. milked) by an owner or two, any club like STFC who attract a decent following will always be a prime money-making interest to dubious ownership and you currently have one but you aren't alone in that. The number of famous old clubs that have been led to wrack & ruin when in a decent financial & footballing position is sickening.

As for your last para; I think he'll end up somewhere like that but in a straitjacket and they'll send journos round every day to ask him the same questions which he always reacts to, well either that or he'll get his own TV show which I for one wouldn't miss  "Ollie's Barking Mad Football Interview Hour" on prime TV - count me in sir 👍

NB - He's effing great unless he's managing YOUR club with two games to go I suppose . I've also heard he's being offered the n'cle job when eddie h goes the journey: a marriage made in heaven, he'll always have someone to argue with around the bench.

Well done to the nearly 1,000 Robins who have flown North to Sunny Cleethorpes...

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner...

A win means a play off place secured for Swindon I think, although more exciting to lose and then have the Winner takes all Match at home to Chesterfield next week.

Score Draw I reckon.

😎
