Swindon Town 25/26 thread

How’s Ben Middlemass getting on @Swindon On Tour

Come on yesterday after 4-0 down and looked ok.
Holloway hasn’t played him because he hasn’t got minutes. Ffs how can he get minutes if he doesn’t play him. Have been plenty of opportunities but Holloway making mistakes for sure. Playing players out of position is becoming too familiar now.
I reckon owner is part of IH's demeanour & sometimes part of what he's left to put a team together each week (if you go back through some of veiled comments); the jobb isn't what it said on the packet but named criticism is very very dangerous. But yes he's made mistakes in his attempts to produce something that haven't worked out.

Missing even one key player can sometimes turn a team into a disorganised shambles, next game may not be pleasurable on several fronts...but don't dismiss yet this is football.

Going prawn sandwich next week and by train.
The plan is to get to the pub early, beers to numb the pain.
Maybe my chance to get a 3 season ban.🤣
Well at least you have div2 football Swindon, nice while it lasted for Barrow, you wont be playing Barrow anytime soon imo, back to our natural position in the footballing pyramid.

Real sad seeing them go down. Lovely club and decent fans.
Just want Crawley out the league.
However points deductions may follow us for next season. You never know.
Town rarely get much there is the feeling

Can only see one outcome. We are done.
Chesterfield games massive now mate....remember our bargain ....see you lot in league 1?
I sorted my side of it out months ago!!! :)
Get yer finger out!

Good luck Saturday pal

Sadly mate we’ve blown it.
The song from our end summed it up yesterday.

“Your going to Leicester, we’re going to York.”

Would love a beer with you, my empty glass filled up with tears.🤣
We could be managed by a Head Coach like that …. Phew 😅

Forget the coach.
You WILL NEVER have owners like we’ve had.
Absolute scum.

Gonna finish 8th

Cheating twats deserve it

Well done 👏👏👏
Was that decided before the enormity of this game became clear? They have a good following but any benefit given to an away side can only be detrimental to STFC.

Yes.
Grimsby had all 4 sides yesterday with their fans in them.
Then you look at us.
We’ve banned fans from our end behind the goal for health and safety reasons ffs.
Seated stand !!

been a proper collapse 2nd half of the season. What's happened?

Bit similar to Walsall last season, although that one was highly spoke about amongst EFL media and yet not heard so much chat about this one, it's almost crept up on everyone

Aye well...if its a race to the bottom...I reckon I get a medal....I'm 68yrs old and its the first time i've never seen Wednesday win in a whole bloody season!.
39 games since we beat Pompey away, owls haven't won a home game ALL Season....I went to Stoke away...sold out, couldn't get a ticket for Cov...sold out...Oxford sold out and the last home game at home v West Brom next Saturday 161 tickets left...will sell out.
Its the fans that suffer..I hold me hands up, Chansiri cheated, the club deserves what it gets..in no way whatsoever the bloody fans do tho'
The largest gate in The Championship all season will be at Hillsborough next week, (Cos yous lot f.ooked off :) )..Its a testament to either blind loyalty or abject stupidity, but I'm gonna enjoy it..Theres nowt else I can do.
A probable 15 point deduction next season will more than likely send us to League 2...and I doubt Owls fans will maintain the mad sort of delusion that has seen fans tip up home and away for this season....The grounds a sodding wreck, the teams a shambles, ..Walked into Stokes stadium the other week...and an Owls fan came out of the bogs and said..."Its got hot water!!" as though f.ookin' Stoke City had just invented the sodding wheel!..I pissed meself laughing...."Glad I bloody came then..who woulda thought!"

Lost 2-0

Another example of a great traditional club brought to it's knees by poor ownership. Yet again it's the large amount of fans that suffer...it makes me absolutely sick.
This thread has had me thinking (again) about clubs that were part & parcel of 60s football when my interest began that went out of the league somehow; Bradford P.A, Southport, Workington, Darlington, Chester, Carlisle, Hartlepool, Aldershot, Halifax, Torquay, Rochdale & even Gateshead who were not re-elected in the year I was born.

A honorific injury record, getting kicked out of the piss pot trophy, poor January transfer window, poor tactics, team selection.
We haven’t played well this year.

We are owned by a plumber and the taps don’t even work in the bogs.🤣
Then some talk about a ground development under this lot of scum bags.

Like you I do actually laugh. The plastic sheet taped at the back of the stand to stop the water pissing on the seats is a thing of beauty.

One day mate.
Good luck next weekend Swindon marra .

Already given up Mate.

Just shows the potential with decent ownership.
Near on 14,000 for the winner takes all game Saturday. In addition being asked for tickets.
Not confident but if they are not up for it then might as will give up.

Prawn Sandwich brigade Saturday. At least get a few early drinks in before the game.
Both big clubs for what is a massive game, it's a dog eat dog game that the players will love: Get out there and battle.

Good Luck for getting the beers...and the game of course. Someone will come out of it with the right result so why not Swindon. 🤞

How many current League Two Clubs, let alone League One can pull a 13k plus crowd?
That is why it’s so frustrating and just needs to spark from a forward thinking owner to take the Club forward. Honesty would be a first.

That is one of my main reasons for STFC getting upwards out of L2 despite what you & others think about the owner, you have to take that chance in a higher division to progress, it may work out but may not. You have to get there first then consider options.

I agree that some honest ownership tranparency would be better but stick that in the background for now - win at the weekend then get through the play offs anyhow.

Ha'way Swindon. Would like to see them do it, just to cheer Ollie up after his post game interview at Grimsby.

Poor sod looked like he never wanted to see someone kick a football again.

Fingers crossed for you tomorrow mate.
One game at a time.

Already have conditioned myself for failure.
Anything above that line tomorrow a bonus.
Appreciated 👍⚽

Needs to pick an attacking line up as a start.
Drop the Welsh Hollywood star as a start and Hoilett coming on around the 65th minute.
Ffs play players in their natural positions.
I do have sympathy though regarding the unreal amount of injuries although we do have a habit of signing that calibre.
