Meanwhile the Club off the field is rotten to the core and has been for 10 years now.

Honestly I’m sick to death of it. Fook them all and the thought of doing it again next season in this woeful league fills me with dread.

Aussie Court Case hearing due at the end of this month and he hasn’t got a leg to stand on. Made his Son a position on the Board, how perfectly timed.

Wrexham still pay a high proportion of his wages, easily the highest earner by some distance. I wouldn’t want him in the dressing room.

In fairness even their Manager said we deserved a point.

Your background problems run far far deeper than I'd picked up from you on here & in my searches. It's an utter mess that relates to several club management/ownership figures and sections.

Your top line above says a lot about what some personal attitudes within the Club actually see it as and therefore how they behave. In the future it's a difficult one to estimate; being promoted tells those responsible the've done the right things so they continue, then "not" being promoted sickens (and gets rid of) loyal fans. A sale of the Club would probably be best but then again who/what do you get beyond that. A clear the decks shift the problems should be on the agenda

I've seen that situation with a few clubs (inc Carlisle) over the years so fingers crossed for a decent new owner because there are a few out there that are interested in new money-making club improvement ventures, and as I posted last year STFC would be one of those chances to take imo. [Like Carlisle; (as one) you have a good fanbase so taking that chance would be worth the gamble depending what you could be bought for.]

I'm canny mate, my step-son and his girlfriend popped across to see us for lunch and I had a nice walk with the dog through the woods while the sun was out.

I thought Sunderland did ok yesterday to be honest - pity about disallowed goal and goal conceded. Concerned how many injuries we have and they only continue to increase! Missing 3 or 4 key first team players all at once is clearly a big issue so it’s no wonder we’re struggling. I think a drop off was always going to happen, we just need to regroup and go again. As long as we stay up that is job done.

Have a good day and good luck at Gillingham on Tuesday night. Do they still house the away fans in the notorious uncovered temporary scaffold structure behind the goal?

A good day in Gillingham? I take it you've not had the misfortune to go there. It makes Middlesbrough look like Monaco

Very true. I've visited Gillingham twice for football in the early 2000's and witnessed 3-1 and 4-0 wins for Mick McCarthy's team. On both occasions the supporters association coach I was travelling on stopped off in Gravesend on route for pre-match libations.

You just have to laugh through the turmoil, if you don’t have that then what do you have. Our hardcore fans are class. Just hope one day we can have something to celebrate through the tears of joy.
Told both my lads the next promotion Dad will be in bits, the emotion will just take over from the years of hell. The way it’s going more likely I will rise from the ashes and haunt everyone.🤣⚽️

Interesting article, thanks for sharing. I had forgotten (or perhaps more appropriately obliterated from my memory) that, after beating us in the playoff semi-finals in 1987, Gillingham faced Swindon Town in the final and after the two teams drew 2-2 on aggregate which necessitated a repay at a neutral ground which Swindon won 2-0 to claim a place in the Second Division. I always wondered why we were eliminated on the away goals rule in the semis after a 6-6 draw over the two games without the option of a replay when the final went to a decider after the scores were tied over two legs? Not that I am bitter or anything!

IMO you're better on the road, ride your luck (that's the game) and take everything on offer as I've posted before. Yes, one or two slips could cost any of those at the top end but you have to stay in that group which todays win provided. When looking at your remaining fixtures a couple of months back arguably apart from one or two you could have got something from all of them, Fleetwood next will be an awkward game so be patient.

From the brief [Sky] highlights I've seen today keeping the ball on the floor is your best option so why IH hasn't sussed that is beyond me.

If it has to be the play-offs so be it but someone still goes up via them so cross each bridge if it comes to that.

You can usually count on STFC to get a goal so when it comes doesn't matter. Cash benefit for some, well done - beer or two on the strength of it ! :lol:
