Saliva on cricket balls to be banned

Players are likely to be banned from using saliva to shine the ball by the International Cricket Council when the sport resumes after the coronavirus pandemic.

I’m pleasantly surprised, I thought a cricket ball would be deemed too hazardous as a source of contamination. If sweat is allowed then maybe the prospects are decent for some action in the latter part of the summer

Its keeping me going too. Worry is a "second spike" and another lock down soon. If that doesn't occur then both the Test series should go ahead.

I've always sweat rather than spit - gives a much better shine.

Cricket Scotland are currently telling us beginning of August but hopefully we'll hear something today that will bring it forward at least for 'recreational' cricket.
