Sustainability / Commercial ideas

Sounds like a canny big bit of work that mind, not sure it’ll help with sustainability as the cost would be astronomical. Sprucing the concourses up a bit wouldn’t do any harm mind.
I dont know if it would be cost effective, but it's an idea that could help generate much needed funds

I wish they would have a better selection of drinks. It's an in and out experience for me the match day was there sharp Saturday would rather spend my money in the ground but the drinks are vile. Concourses awful
How would the concourse be extended ?

It’s embarrassing it’s Carling.

It literally the worst lager
I had a few pints on Samson on Saturday & enjoyed it.

Yes, but wouldn't a fenced off area with Marquees do it until we are back in the land of stupid money?
I used to live round the corner from City’s stadium and I was always jealous of this area. You can’t see it in google maps, but they have food shacks there from restaurants from the town that do bloody good food like ‘Northern Soul’ (a grilled cheese sandwich emporium)

They normally have some pre match entertainment on with some big screens etc.

I've suggested merch several times at the meetings but have always been shot down with some long winded tale about babies bottles that they couldn't sell.

Anyone with bairns will know what it's like. You have a lovely family day out at a farm or a museum or somewhere, then you go through the shop as you leave and they pester you for a ruler or a bouncy ball or other such tat. I reckon there is a market for novelty tat at the kiosks on match day and in the shop for gifts. I used to buy my lot pens and pencils and stuff like that for their Christmas stockings.
Sounds daft that, it's not like baby bottles go out of date is it?

That's a good idea. The lamp room in Seaham often do food festivals so they must have capacity to do such a thing and their food is lovely. I'm sure loads of places would of given the chance

The point is with the new FFP rules coming, we are always going to be reliant on turnover. If we dont look at other revenue streams the only that can increase is ticket prices.

Merchandise is a big one, Leeds make loads on their merchandise side of the business, up there with the best in the UK, what do they do better than us?

Pay on the gate turnstiles, card or cash.

Kiosks the same let people pay with cash.

Sort the ticket office out.

Stop making it so hard for supporters/ customers to give you money.

Add the club shop to the list along with all the current hospitality issues.

Get right what we have in place now before thinking of extending etc

Create a paid for training package to help people get into football as a career (scouting etc)

Create a relationship/network with large clubs worldwide for player swaps to provide different exposures

On a one brand per player basis charge for individual player sponsorship where the sponsors logo appears on the shirt for the season

Develop football related items -shin pads, keeper gloves etc. Have a full R&D dedicated to it

I did see their point. Suppose you spend £1000 on baby bottles and they hardly sell. Then that £1000 is tied up for a very long time and not generating income.

However my argument is bairns won't pester for a baby bottle they see when they come to the match. They will pester for badges, posters, stationery items, small toys etc. Parents are not going to buy a shirt every match, but they probably can be persuaded to part with £1 for a pencil.
