Sustainability / Commercial ideas

It’s got to stack up financially tho, if they don’t see it being possible to get a return on investment then they won’t do it. I’d have thought the amount it’s cost would take decades to recoup given how little additional revenue it’s likely to generate.
Everything has to give a return otherwise as you rightly say it's pointless.

Bit there must be things the club can do that need exploring more to see if they are viable?

It’s not necessarily about recouping it and paying it off. It’s about almost instantaneous boosting of turnover. And boosting turnover helps us on the park. And success on the park generates more money. Then they can think about paying loans off.

At present, we’re not generating enough annual income. There’s plenty of avenues of raising capital available to wealthy people like the Louis Dreyfus lads and Sartori if they have the appetite to do it. If they’re here for the long term, they’d be planning on it

£5 to use the toilet.
£5 to unlock your seat to the down position.
£5 to get a cup for your pint.
£5 to turn the turnstile.
£5 to climb stairs, each way.
£20 to leave early.

We’d make a fortune.
That last one is a winner.

Even if they aren't here long term, building / improving the infrastructure increases the asset value while also providing valuable turnover / profit

The half time exodus for a pint is getting ridiculous ! Loads leaving their seats on 33 mins 🙄

Maybe if we had modern facilities where it took seconds to get a pint rather than an ad hoc queuing system that would be mitigated as well!

The stadium is in need of modernising. It’ll not be that long before we’re talking about that as an absolute necessity. The ground was a massive advantage for SAFC given its size and modernity. But without modernisation we’ve no advantages from it at all.

There isn't many things that could be done that would give such quick returns imo

There isn’t mate. Sadly, I get the feeling they are content to just keep kicking the can down the road

The funny thing is, given the fact the club are about to launch a push for the SOL to host games in 2028, you’d think tidying up the SOL would be a priority

Not to mention redevelopment of the Sheepfolds area to include more hospitality and housing and a return to summer gigs. There are gains to be made for certain

Maybe they will announce.it at the same time as a push for 2028 games?

Seems like there is a little support for more food and drink opportunities, bit without changes to the concourse or building something there isn't room to do anything

I find it staggering that a drink is more important than 22 mins of football for some

The point is with the new FFP rules coming, we are always going to be reliant on turnover. If we dont look at other revenue streams the only that can increase is ticket prices.

Merchandise is a big one, Leeds make loads on their merchandise side of the business, up there with the best in the UK, what do they do better than us?
They put stock in the shops then open the doors.
