Surrey v Durham CC 2025

The problem is that North and Bostock appear to be able to do as they wish without any monitoring or accountability from an anonymous chairman and board of directors. I'm seriously concerned about the the future of my beloved club.
Plus little things like the commentary at the Riverside going in house, the meetings being hosted by Thorpe and of course the latest members meeting which had the potential to be the most interesting since @GordonMuchallNo1Fan set sparks to Franklin but instead is now some sort of Bake Off.

My proudest moment as a Durham member  . But aye so much change but not for the better at the club with a lot of off the field decisions. Interesting to see where things will end up soon

Cricket should be a contest between bat and ball but this is just a joke. It’s basically just a batting exhibition. Even the Surrey members were bored watching!

No,unfortunately, with the extreme heat I think the pitch will dry out and crack to take spin, certainly by the final day. We'll lose heavily and it'll be no less than we deserve for that crass decision at the toss. There was a green tinge at the beginning but that was never going to compensate for having to bat last on a pitch, given the weather, which would likely be difficult to bat on.

Pointer hasn't moved from the zero
Poynter?
Watching rain would be more entertaining than the cricket at present if it happens.
or Drizzle bowling

Kookaburra ball, flat pitches, warm weather = exactly why Sussex did what they did last week to protect their own bowlers.

How entertaining County Championship cricket is at the moment is subjective but opinions on the kookaburra ball experiment from cricket watchers will be much more consistent imo…

What happened? Leave no detail out please.
Well we were shit under Franklin and I basically asked the question as to why he keeps selecting the same players and expecting a different outcome... He instantly started stuttering. He asked me for an example and I said that Bushnell deserved more chances and I said he scored a half century and was then dropped and Franklin replied to me saying "you have to earn the opportunity" to which I replied "he scored a half century for the first tean and followed that up with a high score for the 2nd xi" (I think it was a double century but don't quote me on that). I then went on to say that he basically is talking crap and that good performances aren't merited and he's demoralising players by dropping them whilst favouring constant failings. It was basically a mic drop moment as he wasn't expecting me to have done my home work in Bushnell scoring well in the 2nd team and remaining dropped from the first team after a high score. Marcus North had to take over as Franklin was stumped and stuttering badly..... He was sacked not long after. Few people patted me on the back upon leaving the members lounge. The look off Franklin you could tell he wasn't happy.

Top work. I suspect they just like members to turn up for this sort of thing and be in awe of their majestic presence. Or field questions about hand driers not working.

I'd have been prepared for questions like yours with a standard Father Ted response, but not 'That would be an ecumenical matter'. Something along the lines of 'Sometimes there are factors that influence team selection that supporters aren't and shouldn't be aware of, such as matters of a personal nature that it would not be appropriate to disclose'. There's no real comeback to that.
