Support our City Centre - Sunderland

Travelled nigh on 300 miles to support the new projects of the City Centre yesterday and today.
Stables yesterday and today 8/10.
3 Stories today 8/10.
Bridge Hotel today 0/10. “I’m sorry but we close at 8 o’clock, we’re just pouring ourselves an after work drink”. Walked in at 8PM to be greeted by that very sentence. There was about 15 or so people in there already served, seated and drinking ffs. Bill Gates, Tom Cowie, Mike Ashley, Steve Jobs etc, listen and learn cos THATS how you grow a business.

Was that last night? Closing at 8 on a Saturday night is very weird like

Even on a Sunday,that's a bit crap.
Oh it’s a shit load more than a bit crap marra.
They’ve been open a couple of weeks I reckon and I bet half of their punters atm are new to the place and they’re shutting at 8. I highly doubt the council licensing laws insist on it. It’s a decision made by someone high up in the organisation. Even if they’ve a solid reason for it then being a young business you’d pull a pint and a half when there’s 15 or so punters in there already drinking.
Bunch of kids playing at running a pub is my verdict. Tell me I’m wrong someone. I dare you to even try.

I agree. Could've easily just said' you can have a pint, but we are closing soon'. Not very good p.r. Seems to me that they just wanted the place for themselves for their 'after drinks'

I’ve spent enough time in pubs both during licensed drinking hours and unlicensed drinking hours ower the last 47yrs to say you’re almost certainly right there marra.

A new cliquey pub?

Much going on round the town on New Year's Eve? Still debating what to do, normally just stay in.

Say hello to 2025 at The 3 Stories — the hottest new spot in Sunderland!
We’ve got DJ Danny Gray bringing the heat from 10pm, plus live music all day to keep the party going. Let’s make this New Year’s Eve one for the books!

Came down for a session around town on Friday stopping at the Hilton, £76 for bed and breakfast for me and the missus (no) great value.

Bridge Hotel, 3 Stories, Keel Tavern, Peacock, then Ember and a couple in the bar at Sheepdolds.

All very good and we are saving up for a repeat in early 2025.

Never been colder or wetter at football in the 60 years I have been going, though seeing Tommy getting his first goals was worth it.
10/10 all round.
