*~*~* Sunderland v West Brom match thread *~*~*

Righto. We created nowt all night. Best chance was Rigg’s and that was after Watson went off.

It’s not an indictment of Watson’s ability. He was just ineffective and offered very little.

My point is he atleast got the ball and got some crosses in/shots off.

It may not have been much but Mayenda on the left offered literally nothing.

Roberts offered very little on the right side too, Mayenda should have replaced him not Watson.

A performance without spark, and it happens when the opposition are so defensively minded.

When they are siting in you have to look at set pieces and every one of our corners/free kicks were woeful to the point Mepham stopped going up for the last couple.

If said this a few times but if you can’t win ‘em don’t lose ‘em.

Third place. Big game on Friday just became even bigger.
That’s a good way of looking at it, we didn’t win and haven’t lost, on we go to Sheffield, it’s winnable it’s shef united . Not fking prime Barca

He caused the most problems in the first half, had the most shots and the most crosses. He was very unlucky with the cross that the lad cleared from the 6 yard line - that could of gone anywhere.

Way ahead of Roberts in end product, but yeah he was "ineffective and offered very little"

I’m glad we agree.

He may have had the most shots and most crosses but, barring one, I don’t remember many if any beating the first man.

Is it not possible to just call it for what it was? It doesn’t mean he’s crap. The lad has talent but he didn’t do much tonight.

And Roberts being as ineffective is a moot point.
