The war goes back far further than that. The civil war truly was a decisive moment but there certainly is evidence that we took opposing sides during the Viking invasions. The Mag was happy to be accommodating to the invaders whilst Mackemdom stood alongside King Alfred.

Our two peoples are so fundamentally opposed in values for society that it would appear any truce is impossible. The Mag is warlike to his very soul. He is a creature of envy and greed.
The Mackem values community, he values wit and intelligence and he prides himself in the dignity of his being.
Spot on. As ever. It’s good to have you back my liege. Like the return of Aslan we need your leadership in these dark days of rumblings ower yore.
This anarl.

Love Sir Ricky's posts

It goes back way longer than that tbh. I'd have to find the book I read but going back to the Anglo Saxon settlements of the 500/600s apparently they were different tribes who settled in each region and would often fall out over important issues of the time.

But yeah the more recent (well) civil war and Jocobean wars really caused friction over resources. Think most of the North East backed Scotland and the Mags sold out to King George first opportunity they got (sound familiar?).

Calling us Jacobeans and the Mags royalists won't go down well with the righties on this board.

Apparently it goes back hundreds of years to the scum being given coal trading rights by the king.

This resulted in Sunderland fighting for Cromwell during the Civil War against the Crown.

A win in the Battle of Boldon Hill led to Newcastle being annexed by a Sunderland/Scottish force.

So it appears that we have always beaten them. 🤣🤣🤣
Our darkest hour and one we should be ashamed of

Aye, you would think they would all be or deposing of an unelcted government who was 'favouring' certain places over others under his rule, turned a blind eye to the old religions of others and married a foreign Queen, siding with the French???

Secessionists. Going against the King. Imagine trying to overthrow Her Majesty. A disgrace then, now, forever

The King had betrayed his people and needed to be overthrown. It was the duty of every proud son of Mackedom to fight.

There has never been a war in history in which the people of Mackemdom have fought on the wrong side. From the Viking invasion, to the Civil Wars, to the battle against the She Wolf of Grantham.

Our people, are so embedded in the conceptions of community and tolerance that we collectively arrived at the correct decision on all such occasions.

But it is not just the end that separate us from the Mags but the MEANS. We pride ourselves in our democracy, our tolerance and our enlightenment values. The Mag scorns these concepts.
Whilst a pub full of Mackems on a Saturday evening will discuss the form of Ross Stewart and the tactical nous of the gaffer, we may also discuss the influence of Voltaire or the properties of the Wooly Mammoth.

Gentle, enlightened conversation and debate. That has been the way of SAFC and her children since the day of our glorious founders.

Aye, as much as I'm not arsed about Elizabeth II she has enforced people to pay out loans to her and if you didn't then imprisoned you. Just to fund a war they already essentially lost and expected that the people should pay as much taxes she befitted because she had the divine right of the Gods to be Queen and ruler of the peasants.

.......secondly when William Wallace was executed he was hanged, drawn and quartered and the quarters were sent to Stirling, Perth, Berwick and Newcastle as a warning to anyone thinking of another rebellion. They obviously have never been trusted by any fucker. 🤣🤣🤣
