*~*~* Sunderland v Luton match thread *~*~*

Positives. Dan Neil excellent again. Enzo, very good and great goal, first for the club, really pleasing. Ballard, solid. Patto good save first half and clean sheet, back 5 all did well. Wilson good, really needs to be converting more of his chances if we’re being honest though. Luke steady, Roberts frustrating, but decent second half.

Negatives. Still wasteful, nowhere near clinical enough. We won’t face another side as poor as Luton this season. Really, really poor. This wastefulness and not killing off teams is a massive concern that really worries me, it’s a bad bad habit we have to kick. Regis, lack of subs and game management is a big issue. We’ve got lads there sat on the bench crying out for minutes, and lads in the team who are dead on their feet. Just fortunate we don’t get any needless bookings or worse, injuries. Rigg’s form has dropped off a cliff, just give him a rest ffs. Seelt, Aleksic, Ogonsuyi would all have benefited from a run out.

A good result and decent night, with the above issues, and results elsewhere, disappointing tbh.

Sorry to hear that, mate.
My daughter (no) is only 34 and she had a stroke last Autumn. She’s still not right, though she hasn’t lost any physical ability. It’s a horrible thing to endure, I hope you get well soon.
Damn man that’s young, I’m mid 40’s and that was seen as quite young so..

I’m getting better tbh, had no movement below the left elbows since it happened and tbh it’s not looking like it will return, some of my physio team have pretty much said as much which is rare for them but while it’s still there I’ll have hope it returns. When in rehab they didn’t really use my left arm much, because of that the muscle deteriorated so much I have a sub luxation of the shoulder, been in a sling for nearly a year now, I also had a fall in November and broke my hand which has set me hack a bit.

I’ve just bought a robot training glove to hopefully help with the hand, it’s a simple bit of kit but feels great to feel my fingers moving again..
On a plus note I started karate with my lad and it has massively helped me mentally and physically, especially the left leg, I still have a big limp but it’s getting stronger and stronger each week, with their help.

I ll get my next belt in March as well..

Hope your daughter recovers mate, it’s tough because only folks who have had a stroke can even begin to understand how tough it can be..

💪👍

Good result tonight but I don't understand Le bris at times we're far too passive when we get a lead and mistakes start to creep in with extra touches. He should be pushing them forward for more goals. We end up getting sloppy. Mayenda is a breath of fresh air when he comes on he should be starting games. I know we won but overpassing it and sitting back too much.
Much as I love the bloke Isador was as guilty as anybody for not putting the game to bed in the first half.
That awful miss and failing to connect to Roberts teaser across the 6 yard box.
As someone pointed out earlier, the difference between a premier and a championship forward.
Still think we are lucky to have him though
