*~*~* Sunderland v Hull match thread *~*~*

If someone else was dictating team and tactics, we wouldn't have totally switched pace and approach between managers, and again during the Dodds run. Would have been completely consistent.
IMO these issues were creeping in with Mowbray as well. If they weren’t he’d still be here. We play the exact same system. Mowbray persisted with Onien at CB playing others out of position like Seelt to accommodate it

The approach play between Mowbray and Beale is nothing alike at all
No it’s not I meant the playing players out of position (Seelt at Rb etc). It’s false to pretend that we played unbelievable attacking football before Mowbray was sacked though because at the end it was getting very predictable. Worth noting last season/beginning of this was some of the best I’ve seen since I started going 😂 but it certainly wasn’t great towards the end for Mowbray and Beale has took all of the slight issues we seen and made them 10x worse by the look of it

Yes I agree with all of that. We just needed someone with more tactical acumen to build on what Mowbray did, correct a few flaws Mowbray had - specifically around approach patterns and defending set pieces and the mess that is onien. Instead we got some PE teacher reject.

Bealeball is glacial slow, at least with Mogga we had attacking intent, especially when we won the ball back in our own half. Yes other teams learnt if they closed Clarke down, we could be poor. So other plans were needed, ie a CF to hold up our 'out' ball and then bring in the midfield.
Did we have attacking intent against cov away Millwall away Cardiff home Huddersfield at home
