*~*~* Sunderland v Bristol City match thread *~*~*

The worry is we’ve bought loads of players over the last few years who don’t even feature, even in games we are desperate for something different. The best players we have are the ones who’ve come through the youth team.

65% possession, 21 shots, 5 on target, 8 corners.
We basically controlled the game.

Gave away a daft goal with some stupid defending and they had a fair bit of luck with the bounce

We're just not clinical enough in front of goal though.

Contrary to what a lot of people are saying, i don't think we really played that bad.

I do think O9 is a miss - its that extra layer of leadership.
Roberts seems to be getting there again.

And bravo AA - great little cameo from him.
Really clever running, great control and an assist.
I'd like to see him on a bit earlier next time - good footballing brain

rescued a point, almost nicked it
Park it and on to the weekend
We literally had around 5 chances to clear that ball ping ponging in the box, they got a lot of luck, but we really lacked composure in Ballard and Alese

Better than nowt but that second half was awful until injury time started

I was looking around at times late on and Neil, Aouchiche when he came on, Roberts and Mayenda maybe earlier apart they looked to be running on empty. No tempo and I thought some had given up.

Can't also believe more subs were made when injury time was announced- we looked miles off it.

Our poor run continues.

One thing though - every team will have a bad spell during the season and this is ours. SU, Leeds and Burnley yet to have theirs and as sure as eggs are eggs one of them will finish the season with say 1 win in 8 to blow their season away.

It wont be long before we come out of this poor run.

I predicted 1 v 1 before the game and thought that Bristol City, particularly second half, were well worth their point. I have no complaints except with the manager who needs to get us out of this bad run ASAP.

The midfield look shot at the minute, bar the much-maligned Neil funnily enough. Not sure what Aleksic is going to have to do to get on the pitch. He looked canny at Millwall and if he can’t get on tonight, he may as well pack his bags

Watching Leeds v Boro that third goal is everything we aren’t doing in the final third fast direct one touch football in the final third of the pitch, we have the players to do it anarl

We do. Rigg and Jobe are key to that in the triangles we use but they are knackered unfortunately.
