*~*~* Sunderland v Bristol City match thread *~*~*

65% possession, 21 shots, 5 on target, 8 corners.
We basically controlled the game.

Gave away a daft goal with some stupid defending and they had a fair bit of luck with the bounce

We're just not clinical enough in front of goal though.

Contrary to what a lot of people are saying, i don't think we really played that bad.

I do think O9 is a miss - its that extra layer of leadership.
Roberts seems to be getting there again.

And bravo AA - great little cameo from him.
Really clever running, great control and an assist.
I'd like to see him on a bit earlier next time - good footballing brain

rescued a point, almost nicked it
Park it and on to the weekend

Good point under the circumstances. Keeps the home record going which could be a valuable psychological asset as the season goes on. We should be beating Bristol city at home with our ambitions but I think a lot of the fan base have been guilty of banking 3 points before we’d even kicked off. It’s rare to win all 3 games in a week so IF we win at the weekend 7 points would be a great return but even 4 isn’t an absolute disaster. We’re always susceptible to the sucker punch when we don’t score when on top and you have to give them credit for digging in to get the point in the end.
