Compared to the old pokey little entrance which didn't look very nice at all the new glass front looks very good.
I get what people say about the platforms being dull but it is underground so it will be limited on what can be done.
Brighter walls and more lighting maybe but other than that I cannot see how to improve other than demolishing the place and starting again. With the buildings above how much would that cost.
I know that mate hence my postWH Smith moved out of the station over 20 years ago, long before the revamp.
Transport hubs should be vibrant gateways to a town or cityI'm not surprised really.
Whenever I visit a place by train I would rather go and explore the city for food, drinks and shopping.

Look at the stations in Europe
Theres a lot of main stations you wouldn’t want to hang around in, or the areas around themAgreed to a point but not all European stations are particularly nice.
I've been to some smaller cities in Europe and the station is literally a small waiting room/ ticket booth and two railway lines outside.
The major European cities do have some grand looking stations but with the amount of passengers using these stations it will attract more investment.

It's a weird one like. It's an open space to stand about in before going for your train. Nice and clean and spacious. Perfectly fine for what it's for.
They were talking funny. What's so scary about people sitting down drinking coffee eating croissants like?
