Sunderland railway station.

Was in the station earlier. It's still far from perfect and so much needs doing to it but it looks a bit better than it did the last time I was in there. Plus people saying it's worse than the old station need to give their heads a wobble. 🤣
Perhaps some people just liked popping into Burger King for a poo…who knows.

Absolutely mental people saying the last one was better. Genuinely an absolute dump this one needs work but a million times better

Indeed and surprising, given physical betting shops are generally closing (due to growth online) and they can struggle to get a licence these days (though maybe this is alongside closing an existing unit).
Plus one that just opened in the old KFC unit at market Square

Can you actually object to things like a betting shop , I have never bothered with anything like that but I'm tempted
I was just thinking the same.
And I have never liked the fact your full name and address are public when leaving comments on the planning portal.

Objections need to be on licensing conditions / grounds.

Yup. Valid Grounds for Opposing Licensing Conditions are

- Protection of Children and Vulnerable Persons
- Proximity to Sensitive Locations: arguing that the location is near schools, youth centres, or residential areas with high populations of vulnerable people.
- Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB): Providing evidence that the premises will increase street drinking, drug dealing, or intimidation in the immediate vicinity.
- Noise and Disruptions: Arguing that 24-hour, or late-night, operation will cause noise, smoking, or littering, disturbing local residents.
- Inadequate Area Profile Assessment: Claiming the applicant has not properly considered the specific risks of the locality in their risk assessment.
