Sunderland Look Set To Miss Out

The frustration is that we all know a couple of quality additions will significantly increase our chances of breaking into the top 2. The manager has said as much.
As each day goes by, more and more supposed targets fuck us off for other clubs.
Not at all bothered we didn’t get Cannon or Diaz. We will lose targets to the top 3 on some players because they have parachute payments to pay higher wages.
I lost a bit of faith in the recruitment process when they left us without a striker for so long, but they certainly had a good summer, and I trust them to get it right in this window.

I think some people can handle a bad result or missing out on a transfer better than some others as they have the ability to look at the bigger picture and see since this regime took over generally we have been on a build and upward trajectory. Yes we had a 2nd half blip last season but generally we are improving. Yes we did well under Tony and a similar position now but have more squad depth so an improvement. Then you have others who jump from suicidal to elation based on that weeks result or transfer window. Sometimes you have to look where you were to measure how things are going now and some people look and see we have went from struggling to get out of league 1 to genuine championship promotion contenders. I am sure most supporters want to be in the Premier League but some prefer to be club supporters and some prefer to be club critique. I'm not saying either or wrong but accept people are different.

I agree. I’m not saying that everything is shit just because we aren’t in the PL and the journey is an enjoyable one. Sometimes the journey is better than the destination and this could be one of those times, as the PL has the potential to be brutal.

I just don’t like the whole “aye but we used to be in league 1” as if it justifies everything that comes afterwards.

Missed a few targets but this is what the data is meant to be for. You have a list and can move onto the next one.

Missing out ain't nowt new, we just need to bring the right ones in and get the best out of them.

Striker for sure. Then I'd prefer somebody who can cover the full back positions and then a right winger if there's enough money. Roberts isn't up to it

We need a Striker?

We primarily play one and have three, one is automatic, the next is very promising and needs minutes, and the third we apparently paid some real cash for, nice to have sure, but need?

I'd like an upgrade on Roberts, but he has a large contract, we can't afford to scrap him as it stands.

Full backs, we have a fair few on the books, we can't just keep adding.

None is a need unless we are going for broke imo.

It just ma

It just makes you realise the huge gulf between the championship and the prem ..i dont think its ever been bigger!
That’s because clubs have to make sure they take ffp and PSR seriously
I love watching sunderland win as much as anyone but this whole “we used to be in league one” rhetoric does my nut in.

It’s a lazy excuse. Statistically, this is the worst period in the clubs history. We’ve never spent this long out of the top flight and until we get back there, I don’t think we should be satisfied.
nether do I, in fact I would go one step further a club of our size should be regarded as a top half premier league side look at Aston Villa, that’s possible for ourselves forest the same, that’s what satisfied looks like to me.
That’s who was said in the report yes, don’t know much about him to be honest.

I sincerely hope this isn’t going to be a case of the missing out on targets being how this transfer window ends. As it stands we could lose Watson which I personally think will be a disaster I really do and none incoming. Hopefully I’m just wetting my knickers a bit and being a soft touch.
I think your last sentence is bang on. Yes you are.

We don’t even know how high up our list he was. We may have dropped out because we’ve got someone better lined up. Let’s see.

Nowt changes on here, the raging blurts are still raging blurts getting all upset over something out of their control.

We are looking to get promoted and need players that can hold their own in the premier, if youre talking about missing out on Cannon and Diaz then they have been proved not to be good enough at a higher level so it would have been money wasted...few days left, 5 points off the top of the league with 17 games to play...

definitely no disaster and you need to change youre knickers
Knickers changed

Canon and BBD would have been back ups to Wilson. Poor long term signings.

We've took 4 points off Burnley, should have been 6, we'd have been above them if we'd scored a penalty or 2.

We have signed a player who might be able to shine in the Premier League. I'm happy with that.
So you’ve very little faith in our recruitment team. By all accounts they wanted Cannon and BBD.
Oh it counts but it doesn't exactly indicate that we're far worse off than other teams.
So why did you mock the point made?

I have absolutely no idea what players our recruitment team are trying to sign. I don't actually believe everything I read on the internet.

Because it was just the usual negative bollocks.
