Sunderland Look Set To Miss Out

It’s disappointing and it’s a double whammy when at least 2 if not 3 targets we were clearly after have went to direct rivals, and anyone’s daft to say it’s not and there is no impact.

I don’t blame the club though they are clearly trying there best, but competing financially against clubs with parachute payments js near impossible.

I get that it's difficult but they need to bring somebody in for me.

If Wilson gets injured, promotion is basically off.

I agree that promotion is off if he’s injured. This problem goes back further than the current window and the fact we didn’t bring in a competent striker for 2 years.

I never said it was special. I’m just saying we have clearly got better under the current hierarchy. Some on here, know who they are, love to focus on negatives all of the time.
Personally i think all on here want the best for SAFC but any critique worth its salt looks at both the positives and negatives of any situation or its valueless ..We should always have one eye on assessing what mistakes we made and what we could have done better .... The sunderland fan comes in many flavours and we are better for it!

That's why it needs another bringing in now. The problem is they don't want to spend a penny.

We'd rather pay an extra £5m on top of their price for an obligation to buy if promoted than pay for a player now.

.. If we buy a player atm they have got to be able to kick on in the higher league in case we get there, so it doesn't look easy. How things will pan out in what remains of the window is anyone's guess ..
Haven't missed out on anyone yet like.
.. Thought the striker we were reported as being after had gone to France? ..

'reported' haway man ffs.

I love watching sunderland win as much as anyone but this whole “we used to be in league one” rhetoric does my nut in.

It’s a lazy excuse. Statistically, this is the worst period in the clubs history. We’ve never spent this long out of the top flight and until we get back there, I don’t think we should be satisfied.
I think some people can handle a bad result or missing out on a transfer better than some others as they have the ability to look at the bigger picture and see since this regime took over generally we have been on a build and upward trajectory. Yes we had a 2nd half blip last season but generally we are improving. Yes we did well under Tony and a similar position now but have more squad depth so an improvement. Then you have others who jump from suicidal to elation based on that weeks result or transfer window. Sometimes you have to look where you were to measure how things are going now and some people look and see we have went from struggling to get out of league 1 to genuine championship promotion contenders. I am sure most supporters want to be in the Premier League but some prefer to be club supporters and some prefer to be club critique. I'm not saying either or wrong but accept people are different.
