Good man, onwards and upwards.

but if the kids on this thread want the storys sure i can give em plenty, off the days when it was on par with a parking ticket fine wise:lol:
That was a long time ago..parking ticket ....was done couple of times chelsea away at roker thought i was going down ...metro radio just started was named on news every hour as a few got done same day told work i had a hospital appointment.....not clever...

That's true and it has always made me feel safe at away games over many years knowing that are some very handy lads amongst us. The most recent example was the first leg of the play-off semi-final at Palace - mentioned earlier in this thread. The Palace thugs were very cocky when they approached the old folks, women and disabled at the front of us away fans but they rapidly dispersed as the handy lads from the rear went towards and over the barriers...

Saw a few Palace fans getting some grief on millenium way for the return leg because of what happened down there place.

There was only one Sunderland lad, looked like a right nutter and he was trying to take on four or five Palace supporters but they kept their heads down and carried on walking...pretty fast.

Wait till Rivera hits this thread:shock:

You mean mixing up times and dates, like almost everyone on here?

You mean making claims that other people immediately argue against, like almost everyone on here?

You mean like seeing things one way whereas other people, who were at the same game, have entirely different recollections?

Why don't you f***ing grow up son and start posting something to do with the OP? There's some sad stalkers on here but you're moving rapidly into a european place.

This thread isn't about me, it's about Sunderland you thick twat.

i was thinking the same, he must be trying on some of those new style thongs ready for next summer

So you spend your time thinking about blokes in thongs?

That explains everything

Another one with fuck all to say about the OP or Sunderland.

i was there marra. the mags where actually away at boro that day and had jumped off the train at seaburn and down to the bell from there.

at a guess i would have said there was maybe 20-30 mags. we where in the bar and they opened the doors and shouted come on or whatever and ran back towards the mill view club. the bell bar emptied and they got scattered all owa.

as you rightly say one fulwell lad was a "newcastle follower" who was stuck right into them anarl.

as most derby days there was a couple of coppers manning seaburn station but they where powerless to stop what was going on. needless to say the mags where chased back up to seaburn station.

if i remember correctly the fulwell lads werent all seaburn casuals - alot where just blue bell bar regulars at the time.

It was February 95, we had drew with Port Vale at home and the mags had played a early kick off at boro. We were walking along fulwell road when someone ran round and said the mags had landed, as we ran around into the blue bell car park there was people battling everywhere, one of my good mates had came out of windmills and got hit with a glass and got a cut eye, blood everywhere, the mags didnt know what hit them and got battered all over station road, they got chased back to the metro station when the coppers started turning up well after it had happended, one mag was knocked clean out dangling over the wall near Tesco's bus stop for what seemed an age.

When i was a kid there was this lad who lived next door to my mate, he was always telling us storys of away days and stuff, 1 that sticks in my mind was Leicester away (i think) all the sunderland lot were sat in a boozer and this lad set off a home made rocket laucher??

Ring any bells?

Shay Givens debut, drew 0-0, landed down Leicester early doors and absolute mayhem all day.

Cant believe nobody mentioned Burnley 95 yet, end of season when we drew 1-1 and stayed up, one of the maddest days ever following safc, battling from morning till night.

Also carlisle games in the early 90s.... the first one when flares, smoke bombs etc all getting set off.

It must be another time then because i wasnt 15 when it happened when i was there

Don't want to butt in but there's an incident, involving Newcastle being honestly described by various people ..... some are convinced it was during one decade, 1995, and some another, 2001/2, despite it obviously being a significant point in their lives.

Easily done like ;-)

Burnley was a cracking day out like. I seem the recall a net hung between the stands and all kinds of shite was getting thown at/through it during the game to. Great support like, the place just kept filling and filling up.

I know of both events mate.

The first one was defo 95 after the port vale game.

The second one was around 2000 as I know the lad you on about who was fighting the mags. He even had a mag top on under his jumper. (LT).

The Burnley fans held up, and torched, a Sunderland scarf they'd nicked. A mate of mine, who posts on here, was arrested after the game when the two sets of fans were allowed out into the back lane.

It was a bit messy.

Burnley was always a bit dodgy in those days but we always had a decent few down so I never felt like we'd have a massive problem.

wasnt aware of 95 event iceman but as previous i was involved in 2000 fracas and yes that was the lad in question (LT).

Read a sheff wed book called flying with the owls....Mentions Sunderland on the run sometime in sheffield city centre but also mentions a pasting some sheffield lads got in the fulwell

I can barely remember what happened last home game, never mind what happened in the 90s, dunno how people manage to recall scorelines and events from that long ago.

If the same thing happended now that happended in 1995 that night there would be some serious jail dished out. Carnage is the only way to desribe it.

1993 fa cup, mark bright scored a last minute winner, the day terry butcher done the salutes after the game.

Sheff Wed were fully tooled up and some of them drove down the road in a car trying to knock people over. Sland got scattered all over Sheffield that day but things were evened up a few year later.

I can even remember scorer's in some of the games mate, frightening memory when it comes to away games. Some fantastic memorys on the march with safc.

20-30 mags must have some bottle or just plain mental to front up a full pub of sunderland... i can remember this being reported/talked about like

Sheff Utd away 1996, absolute hell on before, during and after.

We drew 0-0.

Few stayed down in chesterfield night before in the grapes boozer, couple of coaches came down the following day, met up then travelled into sheffield.

Battling in back lanes behind boozer at the bottom of the road just down from ground after game, then it kicked right off at the train station, boozer up road got trashed from top to bottom.

no the 20 or 30 as mentioned landed on the blue bell on a separate incident circa 2000/2001. don't know how many landed in 95 as i wasn't present.
