Sunderland AFC U18s

That’s some result that. Missing a few who were with the 21s yesterday, a couple of mainstays with I assume injures , and then all the other injures that are probably the main reason the whole bench were under 16s.

I thought both wingers did well especially Moore. Cotcher was on the other wing which isn't his natural position.
As mentioned it was a good result on the basis of it being a bit of a scratch side. Only one of the first choice back 4 playing. Very good result.

Thats great thanks, its years since we had so many promising kids .

Just looked at the tables and both the U18 and U21 teams are second in the Premier League. It looks like the production line is functioning well. Not really had it working this well since the days of Alan Brown.

Was just thinking that,Alan Brown really didnt get praise for bringing Kerr, Hughes,Tueart etc on

@Kernel just seen you post in a different thread and reminded me to ask. Any idea if/when any of these 2nd years are due to find out if they are being offered pros. Haven’t heard anything and assume quite a few will get them

I haven't heard anything yet. I'd guess quite a few will be kept on with a pro or optional 3rd year. Said before quite a few 23s are out of contract at the end of the season. Really good age group the 2nd years.

The 16s lad Harrison’s brother who is in the 21s now (might be still injured).
Jayden is a good player. Offered a scholarship too.
Harrison hopefully gets another year to get through his injury and gets some luck along the way to show his potential.

Yes hopefully mate, I did hear from a family member that Jayden was getting a scholarship and heading over Sunderland next season aswell.

Would make sense to give Harrison another year considering the potential and high regard the lad was held in prior to his injuries, certainly a better bet than whoever has been released at Burnley or Southampton etc that we bring in.

Couldn't agree more with your post.
I can imagine they will.

There's been a few with long term injuries who haven't experienced the full time role properly. I'd like to think the club are good with them.
