Sunderland AFC U18s

Be interesting to see how far they will go in the FA Youth Cup when players from other teams who have moved up into the 21s early move back down. Be our luck to draw City in our first game though.

From what I remember they havent played at the Stadium of Light either since the Norwich game when they got beat 4-1 when they had Max Aarons and Todd Cantwell playing. Adam Bale was our best player that day.

The under 18s have been poor since that age group - the year after was also at Hetton against Newcastle when they got beat from an Embleton mistake. This year group is by far the best side since then.

I think they can do well. Got to the semi finals of u17s nationals? Best by far probably as they are not fillers due to being sold off. Good squad.

All depends on who they draw - if they draw a team where most of their 18s play for the 21s then itll be very very tough to progress

Massively. Ante upped after 18s with the big boys. We've mainly done very well pre 16s but others strengthen as we try and keep local. Hard to compete, even more when you lose or sell promising talent.
Plenty of competitive academy football going on.
