Sunday is our biggest game for decades

Last time we were in Europe was 1974.

Sunday is a bigger game than any of the playoffs. This is it. After a decade of despair we are on the verge of European football after only one season back.

I still can't quite believe this is where we are. I can't even talk about it without getting emotional. I'm so proud of this team. I f***ing just love them!
It’s not even our biggest game of the last 12 months nevermind decades.

Its not even close ffs.

As much as I would love a jolly to Europe, i could equally give a flying one in the grand scheme of things

It isn’t.

Listening to a journo who said Chelsea are bang in trouble with uefa over spending etc but the one way they can avoid sanctions is to not qualify for Europe next year 🤔

mmm.... a bit iffy
Well from that fact we are reliant on others makes the game not our biggest in decades.

If it was simply we win and get x european football then it would be different.

But despite the above I'm more buzzing for this Sunday then I was any game in recent memory.

Can’t say I agree with the OP. A big game, a brilliant opportunity, but it’s not possible Champions League qualification. Not the end of the world that we don’t it but would still be great.

We're playing a team BELOW us on the final day of the season. That doesn't sound like a big game but just look at the cost of the Chelsea squad, we think the mags have spunked some money. Over a billion quid so win, lose or draw on Sunday we have proved we can play with the big boys. Not the biggest but it's up there.

UEFA has stricter finance rules than the PL.

It's 70% of income to spend instead of 85%

Chelsea need the CL to be able to afford their current spend to appear in UEFA competitions. They've already fell foul of UEFA before.
