Stuff the World Cup

Been my thoughts since Italia 90 in truth.
I finally have a chance to see England / Croatia in Dallas and still cannot find a reasonable ticket prices (2) would have an airline purchase but I have lodging. I am not overpaying on the websites for tickets my gut tells me I will be watching it on the Telly.

I was in Italy in 1990, it was not corporate stitch up, tickets were easily available for every match I went to, got into Brazil Argentina in Turin for a tenner
In France in 1998 you saw the real corporate turn around, I remember being in Gard du Nord getting ready to travel to Lens for England Columbia, corporate groups were everywhere. I managed to tout a ticket from a Columbian travel group for a 1,000 francs. Which turned out to be a bargain.
Part of the problem in France is only the Paris & Marsielle stadiums were really big enough, Lyon Toulouse, St Etienne, Lens etc didn't even hold 40k
You were never ripped off with public transport though. I'm guessing the corporate take over started in USA 1994.

Intended to retire this May and make my retirement trip USA 2026, as I'd have to take out a second mortgage and keep working, glad I didn't even consider it after the orange messiah came to power

I'd alternate between Italy & Mexico every 4 years, mebbee's throw in a trip to Australia
I’m all for that. Hot hot countries where they love football. Who on earth wants to go to a WC where there’s a chance of rain or clouds and half the population don’t care.

The bus and train fares thing is criminal and FIFA if they have anything about them (yes I know) need to get a grip of this. I read somewhere that as part of the bid , public transport to the venues would be free for fans.
I got free train travel from Basle to Geneva and then from Geneva to Lucerne last summer using my 20 Euro match tickets for the Womens Euros. Those trains would normally cost north of 200 euros combined. Tram/bus travel within cities to your hotel and to the stadiums was also included for free.

Personally I don't care about international football. Haven't watched England for ages other than a glance and I don't care about it. I did when I was young though, not at all now.

But you care enough to take the time to comment on something you don't care about on social media?

Just like the Euros in Germany.
But that's the same for every match/ concert. Travel within the region is included in the ticket.
FIFA is a corrupt mess

Yazoo are releasing a remixed single from the 80s as a 2026WC song “Don’t Go”. I hadn’t realised Clarke was such a football fan tbh. I remember it being played in Ku Club as I tried to hold the walls up back then.

I like to see home nations do well and for our players representing their countries do well but primarily I’ll be focused on getting everyone back fit for next season.

Football fans should have nowt to do with this Shit Show - Infantino and his cronies need to be taught a lesson

“Kolluri said the $150 ticket can be used from any location. A normal round-trip ticket from New York Penn Station to MetLife Stadium costs $12.90.”

And

“Walking to MetLife Stadium is prohibited, since many roads nearby are not pedestrian-friendly. ”

So we are to have half time show for at least 25 mins, which will change the dynamics of the second half as players will have e had longer to rest.

Ticket prices for games are in many cases over $1000.

Transport to the game is limited and the prices have been increased, in some cases, from $20 return to $180!

The location of stadia, mean you can not walk to the game, in some cases you are earned that walking along the road to the game is illegal !

That is if you’re not stopping for posting something negative about Trump.

This has turned into farce.
