You might get The Guardian doing extensive investigations to try and find the odd one or two who as it happened didn't have the correct paperwork, but other than that, folk will be fine.

The prices are an absolute disgrace mind, corrupt greedy bastards.

Just realised England’s group games have 10pm kick offs so the kids won’t get to watch them.

So I can’t imagine we will watch many either. What a waste of time.
 
On a related note Infantino was on CNN yesterday and seemed convinced that the Iranians would turn up in the US for the World Cup. I'm not certain they will and also he comes across as a completed unlikeable 🤬.

This though is Infantino’s corrupt Shit Show - not a football “World Cup”

No chance that he and his cronies will ever be held accountable for the utterly corrupt way they are destroying our game at an international level

The only solution is to completely ignore this shit show

The only result I am looking for is no Sunderland players to be injured playing in this joke tournament

Football as a whole, especially the Premier League has become a money monster, too expensive, burgers, tea etc cost a fortune...it will not stop you watching Sunderland.

We all love footy on here so don't let some greedy, corrupt twats stop you from enjoying what will be a great world cup. Lots of folk suggested boycotting Qatar, but they will have missed some incredible games culminating in probably the best final ever.

Honestly?

I cannot even remember who was in the final of the World Cup in Qatar

Maybe because I’m getting old

But in days gone by it was an honour for the host nation to hold a World Cup and demonstrate how important football was within their culture

Earliest one I can remember was 1966 in England

Then 1970 in Mexico which really opened my eyes to Latin American football

Then the World Cup in Argentina with all the ticker tape and fantastic Argentina side

Then after that Italia 90 with all the operatic style and (then) romance of Italian football

What the f*** does a football world cup mean in Qatar, US and Saudi Arabia apart from masses of cash in Infantino’s back pocket?

There is no mass authentic interest in football in these countries

And I have zero interest in a football tournament in the fascist country that the US is becoming under Trump - in which “soccer” is a peripheral sport at best but which seems determined to milk every last cent from anyone foolish enough to get involved

Good post and agree although i couldnt tell you anything about the Qatar World cup apart from the final due Messi's brilliance against i'm not sure - France? Then being pushed into wearing some daft robe when getting the Cup - hate all that like.

Whereas without googling i could tell you something from all those other much earlier tournaments

74 - brilliance of Cruyff and 1st minute pen v W.Germany but Muller and Breitner did for them.
The amazing long range efforts by the dutch in the early rounds and Argentina winning 6-0 to qualify - wont mention Scotland here :lol:
Italia 90 was superb = Schillachi, Gazza and Maradona being supported by loads of Italians in Naples against Italy.

Great memories of when football was how it should be compared to the corrupt mess Infantino is encouraging.

Italia 90 is through rose tinted glasses (Gazza etc). The football was largely dull and I think statistically (goals, shots etc) was the worst WC in history.
