Students at Cricket

Wankers. Crowds at England games have definitely got worse over the last 10 years.

I've got no bother with people having a laugh, wearing fancy dress and getting pissed. But there's definitely a section who have zero interest in the cricket and are there as an excuse to get arseholed.

It's the trend to sign football songs which annoys me. At least make the effort to learn some Barmy Army ditties.

I have no problem with people getting bladdered at the cricket - I've done it myself plenty of times - but do it without disturbing others.

Modern cricket (especially 20/20) is hardly a stuffy/old codger type of event. However there is a difference between having a drink and acting like a dick head.

It's why we have different stands but even still they get the balance right imo for all types.

One of my mates daughters went on Wednesday as part of the Northumbria group and reckons they didn't even see the pitch, just stayed at the back of the stands getting pissed. Not sure I see the point but I'm in danger of sounding like one of the old crinkly 'tutting' members I used to despise in my youth so won't say any more

when we left the game early, there was a good few 100 stood out the back.

those in the stands didn't pay much notice either

Aye, I left after 14 overs of the Northants innings myself, although that was more down to the result being a foregone conclusion and the feeling it would be chaos getting out of the main cark park after not being able to park in the usual spot round by gate 5.

Students. I have nothing against them, in theory. In practise ..........

Also Durham City is a big covid infection hotspot at present.

It sounds like the club maybe both clubs prioritised this group at the expense of proper supporters, which can't be right.
