Striker situation

I am not saying he is poor. He obviously has loads of potential but at this moment he is not the kind of striker we need. Maybe if we had Stewart as well . But we dont so we needed another more physical striker
He is not going to hold the ball up and bring others into play.

Because they dont need to and are not desperate for strikers. We are.
You can get a lot better for £5m

I don't disagree with the OP's point, but the club's long term goal isn't to get into the Playoffs. It might be a nice milestone for us, but in reality it means nothing. With our 4th/5th option striker upfront, assuming he could perform at a decent Championship level, we'd still enter the Playoffs as underdogs. And yeah, you can argue "the Playoffs are a lottery", but in the Championship at least, there haven't been many Playoff wins for underdogs recently.

The club's gamble is that we couldn't get a difference-making striker in, and they'd rather risk finishing mid-table and not being burdened with someone they didn't really want, as opposed to potentially being stuck with someone next season. It's a risk as we all know the fans won't forget it if we're mid-table in 12 months, but they were caught between two gambles. It's the sort of decision they get paid to make, so let them make them because they haven't got many wrong recently. This rush to judgement is absolutely pointless.
99% of these board were going nuts in October saying we needed another striker ALONGSIDE stewart and simms after were short. Now we only have the 1 who isn't an out and out striker.

Let's not forget though, those people in October were talking about us getting dragged into relegation trouble. That part of the argument has been conveniently excluded.

It's f***ing easy being an armchair Director of Football on here. Pick as many holes as you can in the squad, forget about the holes in the squad that didn't actually end up being holes, then tweak your argument so that whatever is just out of reach would have been achievable had we just made that extra signing. Piece of piss.

Wrong .. i said it at deadline day and will say it tilll the end of the seqson rregardless of whether we win or lose.
Speakman had plenty time to sign a striker . No excuse.
Man united lost Erikson the night before deadline day and signed a replacenrnt
Crazy that. Manchester United being able to attract someone in the space of a day. Not as if that have wages to just throw at players left right and center

What is the clubs long term goal?

Not seen much of him after he disappeared from the politics forum after one embarrassing post too many. Wanting to hoy 5 million quid at Clarke Harris is a strange way to make your comeback mind.

£5m!

Aye, because overpaying for shite has served us well and didn’t get us into league one…nope…not at all.

Surely has to be a wum. I dunno anymore, I used to have more faith people weren’t that thick

Stop with your shit.
It was pathetic not getting a number 9 after Stewart was injured.
Coupled with an arrogant attitude from Speakman that he knows better
Fishing trip today
Can't believe people get hooked by you. But also can't understand how anyone can get any joy from writing absolute shit.

It's basic maths mate. Spend 5m to make 150m. You must be a bit thick in all honesty.

Just wait until we start selling players for profit. That concept is really going to drive some people into oblivion.
