He is part of a group but doesn't need financial backers. His family formed then sold A-Plan Insurance before being early stage investors in both Go Compare and Hastings Direct before selling. He then started and built Bridle Insurance in its own right and has invested in a host of other businesses. He is plenty wealthy enough to get us promoted.He said in an interview that he was always wary of getting involved in consortiums because they usually mean a lack of funds. He's either happy that his backers are serious, or full of shit. Only time will tell.
