Haha yeah discussing/debating although I did detect an agitated tap of keyboard/phone from you on occasion :)[DOUBLEPOST=1394207014][/DOUBLEPOST]
Well it's only took a full afternoon to finally find some common ground! :)

not me marra, nee biting on this keyboard

Greatest away showing I've ever seen happened to be under Bruce actually.3-0 at Chelsea absolutely outstanding and not a fat Geordie b@stard chant in sight! Funny that ! :)
Because he wasn't slagging us off at that point.

And only a fortnight after a 5-1 horsing at St. James's, of course. Funny indeed.

"Here, what is it, apart from big support and everybody getting their knickers in a twist?"

"There is the expectation here of a huge, huge club. It resembles a club which has won the Champions League or the Premier League or the FA Cup, like an Arsenal, a Man United, a Chelsea, a Liverpool. We have a similar expectation here."

"There is a huge expectation, bigger than it ever should be."

Just a few quotes from his time here, if those aren't digs and criticisms of the fans, then what are they?
Reads like someone getting their excuses at the ready.

Here we go again with the shit Steve Bruce craic.
Why don't our fans just accept they don't like him because he was a mag and be done with it? It's crystal clear the reasons behind the bitterness.
The bloke done a decent ebough job here to a point and certainly no worse than keane and oneil who basically walked away without even a murmur from the crowd in regards wanting then out.
Then again oneil was apparently a sunderland fan who worshipped Charlie Hurley so that was ok!
And before we start with the usual we dislike him because he claims to have been sacked for being a Geordie the "fat Geordie c@nt get out of our club" chants started before he got the bullet so that can't be used as an excuse.
Next line is usually "we have a statue of a Geordie outside our ground".Difference being he was a successful one so again that's fine.
No one can doubt our fans will give anybody a chance regardless of where there from but can't dispute minute it goes wrong the whole Newcastle thing will rear its head.
As for Bruce going on about finishing tenth, sacked for being a Geordie etc (he never said that either just that it didn't help) all he is doing is answering questions put to him unlike that complete buffoon di canio who arranged an interview to vent his spleen and played an almighty shithouse trick on oshea during it! Again not nearly as much vitriol aimed at him despite it being much much worse. Then again he isn't a mag though! :)

Wrong!

I've brought this up with this jardine character before, how long do you think Bruce would have lasted with that run of form at St James'? We had appalling form for 18 months he would have been chased out of town there well before that. How does that stack up with your 'fans' fault' argument?

He obviously didn't though did he.
He said that he "realises what it means" because he's from the north east. We can't really be blamed for having higher expectations than 2 wins in about 4 months after finishing 10th.
