The trouble with Bruce is he's a decent, quite likeable bloke for the majority of the time. Then he he starts about why he lost his job here, and loses all contact with reality. His revisionist history would even impress Hollywood.

This is Excuse Bruce your on about???

One of my relatives was there and reckons that was the greatest away performance in 40 years following the lads.

He thought Bridges was going to be a star for England , which he possibly would have been if not for injuries.
Yeah we had both tiers in the away end behind the goal , bridges did all his damage in the opposite goal area but he absolutely destroyed bruce , made him look like some big kid out of his depth.

Well Bonny Lad you now no that there are not many Bruce fans on here these days I wonder why Bonny Lad ?

Here we go again with the shit Steve Bruce craic.
Why don't our fans just accept they don't like him because he was a mag and be done with it? It's crystal clear the reasons behind the bitterness.
The bloke done a decent ebough job here to a point and certainly no worse than keane and oneil who basically walked away without even a murmur from the crowd in regards wanting then out.
Then again oneil was apparently a sunderland fan who worshipped Charlie Hurley so that was ok!
And before we start with the usual we dislike him because he claims to have been sacked for being a Geordie the "fat Geordie c@nt get out of our club" chants started before he got the bullet so that can't be used as an excuse.
Next line is usually "we have a statue of a Geordie outside our ground".Difference being he was a successful one so again that's fine.
No one can doubt our fans will give anybody a chance regardless of where there from but can't dispute minute it goes wrong the whole Newcastle thing will rear its head.
As for Bruce going on about finishing tenth, sacked for being a Geordie etc (he never said that either just that it didn't help) all he is doing is answering questions put to him unlike that complete buffoon di canio who arranged an interview to vent his spleen and played an almighty shithouse trick on oshea during it! Again not nearly as much vitriol aimed at him despite it being much much worse. Then again he isn't a mag though! :)

You are as good at distorting the truth as he is '

Considering we berate him for not being able to let go, we seem to have an awful lot of threads about him. Time to get over the bitterness, we're better with Gus and he's better with Hull.
Pretty much this. Excellent post.[DOUBLEPOST=1394223641][/DOUBLEPOST]

You wonder why? I certainly don't.answer fairly obvious to me.

All the shite he comes out with would be hilarious if we'd just win the f**king games and not get people sent off

He didn't even get any abuse (that I could hear) when Hull were up here not so long ago.

We've had worse managers by far in terms of results but he is a sickening blob on an entirely different level.

Yes we know we haven't won much for many a decade but to be lectured to by that fool about our station in life? And that can't be laid at his Geordie roots cos those lot are more delusional than us about the state of things to come.

He is simply a fat weak man who thinks grabbing a few million a year out of game is all there is to it.. Good on you Pieman but don't tell us that 10th is all we can hope for cos that is all you could get us

To be honest I think that the press probably just gee him up about SAFC when they interview him before a game with us. They then give whatever he says on the matter more prominence because to them it makes a good story. He's probably just as sick of it as we are.

This is probably true. There's also an element of denial with him - 'never walked away from a challenge', 'is it coz I is geordie' etc. All revisionist but clearly this is how he sees himself. If he could learn from those winless runs he'd be a really decent manager but his denial of them makes that impossible.

Not sure if Palace Sheeff U and Birmingham fans would agree with the "never walked away from a challenge" theory.
