It looks like the Sun, the Mirror are both saying it's a family matter, and also talksport saying he'll be out of the tournament so no idea why it needs questioning. It will come out in the wash nowadays as you can't keep anything private.

This. Family is the most important thing. If there's a problem I just hope it's nothing too bad and he can be back if we get through. Sterling has always been class for England, always turned up, I'm not going to start doubting him now. Just hope he and his family are okay
