Good morning.

Whatever people think of our team, the club, we ARE the best supported team in the whole of the EFL. Next season at a guess depending on how we are doing our average home attendance will be around a staggering 34k to 36k, the next club average attendance will be circa 27k…. So with that fact in mind what’s my point.

KLD and his family are multi, multi billionaire’s, he is the single largest shareholder over a huge football club with enormous potential, probably fair to say more potential than any club outside the PL. So I would ask what is KLD’s real intent, he can take full control of the club for £12m to £15m ( I fully understand the fact that he doesn’t need to because with YS 20% support he has control anyway) but if he is absolutely serious about wanting to take this club forward my simple question to him is why not pay it and own the club outright?

He witnessed at Wembley the level of support we generate, he is smart enough to recognise that with further investment (and yes it could be major) but if we got promoted his investment and more would be returned if he ever wanted to sell. Is KLD just playing with this? You will recall he said at RAWA meeting in March he wants to increase his stake…. Well please do it then, get them out of this club, the longer this goes on you have to imagine it will have a negative effect on who AN wants to bring in to make us at least a top half championship team next season.

KLD has the opportunity to become a legend with this club, sadly I remain to be convinced he is totally committed despite his recent comments, if he can’t or doesn’t want to invest in the potential of our great club, then please look to sell it to someone who does.

As for D&M it is absolutely incredulous and utterly disgusting on them that they would consider selling to anyone despite the potential of any long term risk to the club and to us as supporters……You should be ashamed.

D&M are business men, they're not bothered about us, they just care about profit.

Reading between the lines of other views on here, it appears to me as though KLD has yet received his 'billions'. Something that want be made available to him until he is 25. Maybe this has something to do with it. He may seek new investment until that day arrives.

It's not as simple as fans on message boards stating that we have 'massive potential' so he should just buy it or he's not committed. It's all tied into the ceiling for a club like Sunderland is and what the club's value would be at that ceiling. We've got huge support but low ticket sales. We are based in an 'unfashionable' part of the country and don't benefit from massive casual corporate support. So we're probably saying that the total ownership investment into SAFC is capped at around £200m. That is including purchasing the club outright and all the money we'd need to get to that ceiling. In that context it makes sense for the club to establish a way of working that would scale all the way up to that point (which if we're realistic maxes out in the top half of the PL). It's a big if, but if he is secure in his control of SAFC (and has sufficient financial commitment from other shareholders to fit with his plan) then his priority is to get the club working in a way that allows it to grow on strong foundations. That £200m figure would get burnt through in a couple of seasons if KLD really 'went for it' the way that some fans seem to wish he would.

As would any business man. Nothing at all to be ashamed about. The club to them is nothing but an asset

So basically your statement is not one of FACT but one of OPINION

And where did I mention that they should be ashamed?? I have said in around about way what you are saying.....

Also, you're right my statement is one of opinion..... as is your 'statement'. Now toodle off Charlie Boy

KLD has the opportunity to become a legend with this club,
So did all of the managers, chairmen, owners and players of the last 35 years since I have been watching.

Very few of them achieved it. It rarely happens. Experience tells me not to raise hopes to highly and to have realistic expectations.

In comparison with the revenues of the Top 10 of the Premiership (which is where we want to be) we are small fry. Al Qaeda will soon join them and float to the top when the terrorism money pours in. We will lag further behind our neighbours and we will hemorrhage support, particularly the next generation, to them.

I think we have a decent chance of a promotion push but we struggled to get out of League One so let's be realistic.

[reality check ends]

We're the biggest club by some distance in the Championship, there's no disputing that.

it depends on your definition of 'big club' . personally, i hate that phrase. its stupid.

Leicester get lower crowds than us and have won less in their history, so by some definition they are a smaller club than us.

yet they have won the FA Cup and Premier League in recent years, regularly play in Europe and the top end of the Premier League and worlds away from us financially.

We will have the biggest crowds in the championship next season, no doubt. we probably have the best facilities in terms of stadium and training ground outside of the premier league. but it means fuck all if the people in charge aren't intelligent.

People should chill out imo
We have some decent players, a good manager and in Speakman someone who may appear a bit smug but has achieved his objective so far.
Unless anything crazy happens we are in an ok position to do something next season.

I would never have guessed!😂😂

i'm sure why KLD would need to look at our support and realise anything - with regards to how much investment he is going to put in. the two things aren't related.

pretty much any club in the championship could be invested in to take them to the premier league. our advantage is that we have the stadium, infrastructure and fan base to support a premier league club long term, but in theory, so does any club

How old is he

I think he is playing chicken with them, they don’t want to invest, he has all the time in the world. They will become more and more desparate. I’m thinking along the lines of Mike Ashley with derby. Play the waiting game and gather up all the pieces.

The wankers will need KLD sooner than he needs them. Yes I would like it done as soon as possible, but they are businesses within the subject of football.
