Staff Redundancies at SAFC

Unfortunately this won't work. Football seems to be the only profession where people are rewarded for failure and being absolutely shite at your job.
I think the day a footballer is made redundant is pretty much long gone. At the top level anyway. Payet the shithouse refuses to play for West Ham they sell him at a huge profit. Where as morally firing him would of been the best thing. I mean if we go down down we might get 500k for Rodwell where as when he's sacked we get nowt and sadly you can't sell a member of backroom staff.
The redundancies are horrible even if they are necessary to the business. I've been in this position 4out of last 7xmases with different companies and this year my position is still only week to week and I work for a company with 10times the employees Sunderland do. Life is a bitch and that's a fact. Only in my walk of life it's the tools who get punished while the office staff are indispensable.

I think football is unique, far too many "tools" are protected, its the office staff who are being sacrificed, it seems to be, sacrifice the workers to pay for the shit royalty

Yeah they are molly coddled wankers to be honest. No 2 walks of life are the same my industry it's the people out making the money who get sacked n the people supposedly finding the work are kept on despite failing to do the only job they've been given

The concerts were an income generator. I'm not sure if they have remained profitable, but you can understand the club trying to bring in extra income.

We arent the only club who do this sort of thing, and I think the way football is now perceived, it is understandable.
Sure I read that the council subsidised the concerts for £hundreds of 000's due to losses and has had to stop due to (yep) lack of funds. Hence, no future concerts planned.

Valid point, some sales people sell fuck all and keep jobs (and dont I know it) but our sales people are relying on these wankers playing good football

The problem is we needed to fill the squad out. So we had to sign players that have little or no impact (some through injury, some through being garbage) Love Manquillo McNair Pienaar Lescott

Our transfer record has been nothing short of horrendous in the past few years.
Fill the squad out with substandard players. We didn't have to do that at all. All these players were bought by Moyes and have prove a waste of money for the most.

I have said before and at the time the squad should have been filled with our u23 players not journeymen and finished veterans

Very worried as a fan right now about what state the affairs of the club are really in. We could end up doing a Portsmouth :eek:

It's always the little people in the barrel, at least no bugger will be crass enough to drive in to training in a brand new Ferrari on dole day, WILL THEY ?

It's not that bad. We could spend a while in the Championship though if things don't get sorted.
Erm?
£140m in debt
Disinterested owner
No one wanting to buy the club
Bottom of the league
Aged playing staff without any sell on value
Staff being made redundant

Totally agree, between stupid playing recruitment without sell on value, constant changing of managers and general wasting of money. The clubs hierarchy need to take a long hard look at themselves

Why bother going to NY then? They could have gone to the Lake Disrict and gone for runs and bike rides every morning - that's more or less all they did in the way of training according to George Honeyman's interview.
as told what to say by louise
why the fuck did she have to tag along £4,800 for her to ponce around NY at the expense of our money £4,800 each is what the club paid for the trip according to one of the fitness coaches who also went 27 travelled just do the sums f***ing waste of money

For concerts, I presume we are just the venue and get a fixed fee so it's the promoter who makes a profit or loss.
