Staff Redundancies at SAFC

An argument for warm weather training there though which is proven to assist recovery.

Think everyone is aware of this though mate. I certainly am. However, its the PR message that this sends out. Absolutely lifting.
There's never a good time really. Like I said earlier I was involved in a similar process last year, new chief executive come in and went through the place like a dose of salts. He got rid of people who took the piss mainly and although it feels like some of us are picking up extra jobs because of it, it was necessary. It's difficult to comment unless we have the facts, things like how much it will save and how it might streamline things. Bain was always going to do this and from what I can gather nobody will be shocked by it.

Wonder how many players turn up at the ground with their brand new Ferrari's, baby Bentley and Range Ronney's as the back room staff are being handed their P45's?

If the club hierarchy had any back bone or an ounce of moral fibre the useless, lazy, couldn't give a sh*t, workshy tw*ts in the team would be publicly shamed and wages docked for industrial misconduct.

The players like to use industrial law when it suits them - let them be subject to all the industrial laws - failure to put a shift in means wages docked.

RANT OWER
Whilst the sentiments of this are respectable, the correlation between what the players earn and what the staff earn is futile and a stupid argument.

All those people on the on the SMB board will be presumably emptying their millions of savings to help the people at the club out in their time of need?

Anyone losing their job is desperately sad and if this news spurs the players on then so be it. The same outcome was true before a ball was kicked.

What is expensive is wasting millions on shite players, failed sponsorship deals and hosting concerts that leave you out of pocket. You really need to see the bigger picture here.

Obviously aye. That is the bigger picture that has caused our mess. As a result of the mess those failures have created, should we really be sending playing staff to New York for bike rides and sightseeing and issuing redundancy notices to non-playing staff in the same week?

at least the lads had a nice trip to New York
We give the players very good contracts (7th highest wage bill in the country) and second to none training facilities. Fantastic support given what we have achieved over the past 60 years.

Yes we can be critical of managers but the players need to have a very hard look at themselves as way too many are just picking up their salaries with no real effort or desire. Getting beat 4-0 of Southampton at home tells me a lot have no pride in the club. The majority of them with a few notable exceptions need a massive kick up the arse and a reality check.

Sunderland fans can forgive a lot in a player if they see him trying...sadly a lot of our players are not.

Thoughts are with employees under the threat of loosing their jobs.

Because staff are being made redundant due to cuts in funds. Hilarious isnt it....
It won't have made a difference.

There's no sense in employing people to work in a commercial department when there has been a cessation in commercial activities in order to focus on the business's primary function - football.

Just read that Bain has informed club staff that their jobs are under threat this morning. Sad news and a sad day for people at the club that are going to truly feel the cost of how badly ran this club has been in recent years.

EDIT: link
One word Byrne.....

So we'll jet a load of millionaires off the New York on an all expenses paid trip, and then shit all over the staff at the club who work harder than any of them jokers on the pitch.

Disgraceful Sunderland, although I expect nothing less with Ellis Short running things.

Whilst I feel for people who have lost their job, I think this needs to be looked at a little more objectively. As a business we hemoridge cash and our operational running has been incompetent. The organisation I work for went through a similar process last summer as the number of people who were in job roles that didn't need to be was staggering. This isn't unique to SAFC and is pretty much part and parcel of running a business.
Did they send a group of under preforming employees to NY for the week, all expenses paid, though.

Bain is running things.

the club can fuck off. These wages are absolutely peanuts in the grand scheme of things and removing them will make very lttle difference to the overall debt levels. How much are we spending on a loan repayment that was completely unnecessary when a billionaire owner could just be owed that himself.

No, but they bought two other failing companies that are getting turned around pretty quickly. That will have cost a few more quid than a few days in New York. Losing money isn't always the reason for losing staff.
